Burger wraps were a huge hit in our family for the past couple of years. I decided to elevate the basic version into this mouthwatering, breakfast version. This comes together quickly, making it easy to have it fresh for every supper shift throughout the night.
Ingredients:
2 packages beef fry
1- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
Flour tortillas
Maple syrup
Toppings: Runny egg
Lettuce
Store bought crispy fried onions
Truffle mayo
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375°. Line a large baking pan with parchment paper. Place beef fry in a single layer over parchment. Drizzle a generous amount of maple syrup over the beef fry. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until sticky and crispy.
Heat a large frying pan over medium-high heat.
Place a generous amount of ground beef onto each flour tortilla and flatten until the edge. Generously season with salt and pepper. For added flavor, drizzle maple syrup over the meat mixture.
Place tortilla, meat mixture side down, on preheated pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes, then flip and cook for another additional 2 minutes.
Top with lettuce, crispy onions, candied beef fry, truffle mayo and a runny egg for the ultimate breakfast burger wrap.
Slightly more of a patchke, these stuffed mashed potatoes are a perfect treat for the family. Bursting with flavor, you can never stop at one piece. These are also great at room temperature and can be a good option for an appetizer when hosting.
Ingredients:
8 potatoes- boiled until soft (leave over some water for a creamier texture)
3 cubes frozen sautéed onion
4-5 tbsp mayonnaise
1 1/2- 2 lbs ground beef
3 tsp kosher salt
1 1/2 tsp pepper
2/3 cup ketchup
2/3 cup bbq sauce
4 eggs, whisked
4 tbsp oil
1 cup plain breadcrumbs
Directions:
Mash the potatoes, frozen onions and mayo until smooth. In a large saucepan, brown meat over high heat. Drain the liquid. Combine remaining ingredients and cook on low for an additional 10 minutes.
Take a spoonful of mashed potatoes, flatten on your palm and add a spoonful of meat mixture to the center. Start closing the potatoes over the meat to create a small ball. Repeat with remaining mixture.
In a small bowl, combine eggs and oil. Place breadcrumbs in a shallow pan. Dip each prepared ball in the egg mixture, followed by the breadcrumbs. Repeat with the same ball, creating a double coating.
In a large frying pan, heat oil for frying over medium heat. Place breaded mashed potato balls in the hot oil, frying on all sides.
