President’s Message In light of the cold winter weather we are currently experiencing here in Regina, any prospect of playing golf at the Wascana in the near future seems quite remote. I am advised, however, that a number of Members are sharpening their game in the meantime by taking advantage of the indoor hitting nets and flightscope technology introduced downstairs in the clubhouse. For those members who are not planning to go south in the next couple of months, this is a new program offering at the Club that you might want to consider. As President, I want to extend a warm welcome Grady Schuett, our new Clubhouse and Restaurants Manager, and Chad Fawcett, our Assistant Superintendent. A brief resume for each of these two new employees is provided in this edition of the Chronicle to demonstrate the depth of skills and experience that they bring to their respective roles at the Wascana. It is interesting to note that both Grady and Chad were junior members at the Club and bring this added dimension with them. I have had an opportunity to meet with Grady and was most impressed with his new ideas and plans. There have some changes to the composition of the board of directors in the last couple of months, following the resignations of Mike Monea and John Hill. In both cases, these resignations were due to pressure of work in the office. I want to take this opportunity to thank both Mike and John for their valued contribution to the Club, and to state that both would be welcomed back as candidates for election to the board whenever time pressures permit. These recent resignations have increased the importance of the work of the Nominations Committee, whose report was transmitted to all Shareholder Members last week identifying the two candidates nominated. In view of the level of interest that appears to be evident in serving on the board, I should draw to the attention of all Shareholder Members that further nominations for the board can still be made in accordance with the Club’s Bylaws by March 15. At our most recent board meeting on February 19, 2014, the Board approved the Club’s audited financial statements for the year ended December 31, 2013 and these will be included in the notice to be issued to you shortly of the Annual General Meeting to be held commencing at 7.00 p.m. on Monday April 28. I look forward to this opportunity to review and discuss the Club’s operations and plans. John Aitken, President

General Manager Operational Update Food and Beverage Department Organizational Change In the ongoing effort to enhance our Food and Beverage department including the service and services provided we have undertaken what I believe is an essential and important strategic move. Leah Christie has been moved in the organization to manage specifically all catering and events. These are largely the events and weddings that take place in the banquet rooms upstairs in the clubhouse. Club strategic plans call for growth in this area and as such I have appointed a dedicated staff member to head up this area. Leah will continue to report to myself. Grady Schuett has been hired to take on the new position of Clubhouse/Restaurants Manager. His duties will include the day to day management of the Spike Lounge and Courtyard. Grady is well aware of the importance I am placing on the Spike to achieve improved member service and overall experience. Grady will report directly to me. General Manager Greg Dukart

Finally I am pleased to report that there was a significant improvement in the food and beverage bottom line in 2013. (will be reported in the 2013 Audited Financial Statements) I am confident that the noted organizational chart changes will continue to improve our operations and strive towards our objective to provide great experiences for all members and guests. New for 2014 - Important Policy Change to Spike Lounge & Courtyard Gratuity After reviewing this situation for several years please note that the mandatory 13 % service charge or gratuity is being eliminated. All returning and new Spike and Courtyard wait staff have been hired noting this change in policy. We are hopeful that this policy change will provide further motivation by our staff to improve service. Members will be expected to award servers appropriately for good service. Please note, in order for appropriate administration of this new policy members will be required to sign all chits. Any unsigned chits will be subject to a 15 % gratuity charge. Greg N. Dukart, General Manager

Welcome to Grady Schuett As a new golf season approaches I am eager to greet all of the Wascana Country Club’s members, families, and guests; and welcome them to a rejuvenated Spike Lounge and clubhouse. During my twenty plus years in the hospitality industry I have had the great fortune of working with and learning from some of the most respected restaurant franchisees, chefs, and management teams, and hope to bring that knowledge and enthusiasm to my new position of Clubhouse and Restaurants Manager. I believe the new menus and specials, combined with an intensified commitment to our service level and product knowledge will entice you to gather and enjoy an array of new products making The Spike Lounge a destination through the entire 2014 golf season. I am confident by adding specific new amenities in the locker rooms and through the club house will also enhance your experience as members. I hope my years of being a junior member here will contribute to building one of the best food and beverage programs in the province, while continuing to maintain and honour the tradition and vast history of the club. Cheers, Grady Schuett, Clubhouse and Restaurants Manager

Welcome to Chad Fawcett I am very excited on becoming the Assistant Superintendent at the Wascana Golf Club. The Wascana has always held a special place in my heart, as it is the golf course that introduced me to this wonderful game. I was a junior member for the majority of my younger years here until I made the decision to make the golf industry my career. I began my career at Heritage Pointe Golf Club in Calgary, Alberta as the irrigation foreman for three seasons. During this time I enrolled in the Turfgrass Management Program at Olds College. I received my diploma in the spring of 2011 and have just recently completed the Applied Science Degree program majoring in Golf Course Management. Following my time at Heritage Pointe I accepted an Assistant Superintendent position at The Rock Golf Club in Muskoka, Ontario. After three very successful seasons at The Rock, the urge of bringing the skills and knowledge I attained during this time back to my hometown was the only thing I could think about. I feel very fortunate on becoming the Assistant Superintendent here and am looking forward to an incredible golf season. Chad Fawcett, Assistant Superintendent
