August was a bitter/sweet month for WAMM and the staff of HOMe. Three of our children have left or will soon be leaving HOMe. The first two are the children that have appeared on our prayer request list (bottom left of this page) since their adoptions were finalized last summer.

Daddy Berkley is scheduled to leave the US on Thursday, arrive in Ghana on Friday, gather up his new daughter and leave again on Saturday to return home on Sunday. Believe me, this is no enviable trip.

PLEASE PRAY WITH US:  Praise the Lord, Nehemiah is now truly being comforted by Yahweh.  Praise the Lord Nyamekye is home and, barring unforeseen circumstances, Mercy soon will be  Pray for the Berkley’s as they adjust to two new members of their rather large family.

bring Jubilee Mercy Berkley home from HOMe.

Many of you have been praying that the US State Department would grant Nyamekye and Mercy their visas so they could join their adoptive family in the States. Well, on Thursday, August 25, Gerald Nyamekye Berkley left Ghana with his new father. They were welcomed home by the rest of the family the following day. On the very day they arrived home, Pastor William received a call that Mercy’s visa was waiting at the Embassy. So arrangements were immediately begun to secure a flight back to Ghana for daddy to

Please be in prayer for the Berkley’s as they adjust to their two newest children. Our prayer is that they will be warmly integrated into this amazing family. The third of our children to leave HOMe this month is another little one for whom many of you have been praying. Nehemiah is now living out his name in earnest. If you remember, back in June, when Nehemiah was placed in our care, we sent out a facebook request to help us name this little one who came to us with a terminal condition called Holoprosencephaly.

A ten year-old girl looked at his picture and said to her mother, he looks like a Nehemiah to me. They then looked up his name and found it to mean “Comforted by Yahweh”. And so the name stuck Now Nehemiah is truly being comforted by Yahweh, face-toface. His struggles in this life are over and he is now enjoying like like he was never able to imagine it before. So even in this “bitter” circumstance, there is great sweetness that has resulted. Gerald and Jubilee are home with their new family and Nehemiah is HOME! Please continue to pray for the Dekus, Cynthia (Nehemiah’s primary care giver) and the rest of the HOMe staff as they deal with the passing of Nehemiah and adjust to life at HOMe in the absence of three of their precious children.

FOR THE SKEPTICS It has come to my attention that some of the readers of this newsletter have been skeptical about my snake encounter recorded in last month’s newsletter. And so I offer to you the following proof that this vicious beast was no earth worm, but was truly a snake (every monstrous beast has to start somewhere). I trust that these pictures will provide ample evidence of the danger my family faced. It was horrific enough to live it the first time, but having to put these pictures together has required me to relive this incident, resulting in the risk of many more sleepless nights. Please put your skepticism to rest so I too can rest once again.

So please, take a look at these pictures that capture Debbie’s attacker in its natural habitat.
