Evolved Performance
The Art of Motorcycle Performance Hadyn Kennedy’s motorcycle maintenance and restoration business is a resounding success story. Having established the business in 2012, he has revved it up to being the place to go for all-things-motorcycle. Specialist machinery, tools and staff have methodically evolved the workshop into the place it is today. This automotive electrician has found his niche, and the motorcyclists are finding him from all around the country. Evolved Performance is in a large building in the rapidly filling Waingawa industrial area. This summer Hadyn will be adding a retail space where motorbike enthusiasts can come and find what the latest in riding gear and technology has to offer, as well as get advice on all-things-motorcycle. “I want to create a magnet for enthusiasts, in a welcoming space where riders can share ideas and learn about the latest trends on what riding has to offer.” Presentation is all important to Hadyn both in his business and, of course in the motorbikes he cares for. His state-ofthe-art workshop offers motorbike dynotuning, custom-part fabrication, general motorbike servicing and parts, performance modifications, insurance repairs, and tyre changes. Graphic signage against dark beams of golden macrocarpa that cover the large wooden poles holding up the massive mezzanine floor and stairway, clad in timber and steel. It makes for an inspiring place to visit and work. The team often hear accolades for their business presentation and workshop cleanliness. The team are all highly skilled individuals in their respective areas. Chance Oliver is the administrator and parts manager and she also fronts the retail space. She grew up around motorcycles and is a seasoned competitive motorcyclist in her own right. Stu Lincoln is a motorbike mechanic known as the “Harley Davidson guru” according to Hadyn. Stu came from Palmerston North to join Hadyn at Evolved Performance and has done specialist Harley training in both New Zealand and Australia. “Once you ride a Harley, your mind is blown,” Stu says. “Their low-down torque, their power. It’s an addictive experience.” Stu also

Joseph Miller is the servicing technician and brings years of experience working with motorcycles. He will be trained alongside Stu and plans to do his motorbike apprenticeship here at Evolved. The newest addition to the team will be
James Gordon, a mechatronics graduate from Canterbury University. Having worked for Evolved Performance during student holidays, he is keen to grow the business alongside Hadyn, and create specialist parts using a state-of-the-art CNC machine, 3D printer, and graphics/3D rendering technology. Hadyn says having James on board means anything is possible in creating

parts for all motorbikes. Motorcycling has always been an enthusiastic pastime for many and these days it attracts people from all levels of society, young and old. Hadyn is keen to create a base where all riders can bring their pride and joy and know they’ll get quality service and an honest answer.
