100% LOCAL LADS, L-R, ANTHONY, DANE, MARK, JAMES, NATHAN, JACOB, DJ AND BEN. 100% committed to evolving, positive relationships and community
The team at 100% Newbolds Masterton have met the challenges of operating in a global pandemic head on - and are busier than ever thanks to the support of the community. Owner Mark Heginbotham says operating during covid has been challenging but has meant his team have had to adapt, trade smarter and continually improve their systems. “Pre-covid we could sell, order, deliver and install an appliance within a week. Now, stock is harder to obtain but we have managed to navigate this with minimal interruption and thanks to great understanding from our customers.” Even in the midst of covid-19, Newbolds has continued to thrive - with loyal customers making the store their first choice for everything from whiteware, to 4K TVs, to espresso coffee machines and the newly popular air fryers. “We have been very grateful to experience the support of the local community during the pandemic, which we do not take lightly. “Customers deserve to shop where they get the best experience and expertise - which is why we focus on offering strong knowledge of products, an inviting shopping environment and competitive pricing.” For Mark and his leadership team, an “inviting shopping environment” includes adopting a progressive and tech-savvy workplace, while also staying true to its small community roots. Retail manager James Pringle attributes Newbolds’ success to investment in its staff: both in its commitment to training and fostering a positive workplace culture. “People come to Newbolds because they know they’ll get great advice - from people who are passionate about our products and genuinely passionate about what they do. “We have a great team environment here - we love to laugh, but we also strive for excellence and to do a good job.” Newbolds Masterton has steadily grown over the past year, now employing more than 20 staff across two locations: its Queen Street showroom and service yard on Worksop Road. It has also expanded its offering with beds from New Zealand’s biggest bed manufacturer - Comfort Group. The service centre specialises in the service and repairs for the majority of the store’s brands - helping extend the products’ life cycles, and adds value to customer service. “Anyone can sell you a TV - but we can help if it breaks down,” James says. We believe in going the extra mile for our customers.” The Newbolds team are particularly passionate about supporting the community, and provide sponsorships for several charities, clubs and events. These include the paddle boats at Queen Elizabeth Park, Camp Quality, Makoura College’s community pantry, Greytown Rugby, Bride of the Year, and the recent bodybuilding competition held by Wai Weight at Wairarapa College
