Farm update A GOOD SPRING FOR THE FARMS By December Wairarapa Moana Farms will be 50% of the way through the current season with calving and mating complete and the next winter / season plan in place. At this stage of the season the farms are ahead of budget production as a result of favourable winter and spring conditions, but clearly we still have summer ahead of us. The new farm conversion is complete so now there are a total of thirteen dairy farms supported by the two dairy support blocks and external grazing in Hawke’s Bay. The significant irrigation project of over 1,000 hectares (20% of the farms) is currently in the final stages of design and after Christmas construction will be starting on all farms. Off farm the Incorporation investments are being reviewed and the township property leases and ownership assets continually tidied up. The management team appreciated the support at the AGM and was pleased to present the record 2011 results. At this stage 2012 is tracking well with production and financial performance compared to budget but there are significant international economic implications that we need to be aware of that could see continued financial volatility that we have experienced over the last 4 years. From the farm and management team, have a good Christmas and we look forward to the continued success in 2012 and beyond.
