Our WPL have finished for the season, while the CWCL are at home kicking off against Hornby United AFC at 10.15am. We wish the teams all the very best. We are fast approaching the end of the season with games finishing up on the weekend of the 26 th and 27th September. It is a good time to reflect on the season and the year and how incredibly lucky we are to have had a full season of football given the late start with Covid19 lock down. We are fortunate the weather has been in our favour and haven’t had any rain days this season and having our grounds still in great condition ready for the upcoming tournaments. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those involved in the club who volunteer their time, to help within the club. We are incredibly appreciative of all the hard work that our volunteers put in and thank them for the bottom of our hearts. WAIMAK UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB MEN’S CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE Waimak United VS FC 2011 2.45PM Kick off Kendall Park

Coaches Comments Today we welcome FC Twenty 11 to Kendall Park as we enter the final weeks of the season. I thought we were very unlucky, once again, to not get any points away at Halswell last week in a very close fought game. Our boys gave it their all and dominated the second half only to lose 2-1, however we have to congratulate Haslwell on finishing top of the table this season. They have shown the level of consistency required in terms of results in order to come out on top in the CCL having not lost a league game all year. On a pleasing note our Reserves took a fantastic 4-0 victory to put them top of their division and with a couple of games left they have a great chance to win the league, nothing less than they would deserve given the performances and character shown this season. It was pleasing to again see our young talents, 15 year olds Zac Winter and Koby Allen showing they can not only handle playing senior football but also be stand out players with both scoring in spectacular fashion last week. Credit has to go to our Reserves coach Jae and all the boys for their work this season and today is a must win game against a tough opposition. This Saturday is a real dilemma for us, we have so many injuries, players away and suspensions within our first team that in any other circumstances we would need to be taking a number of the reserves boys out of their game to fill in for the CCL, however we also want to give the Reserves the best chance possible to get 3 points and finish the season as champions. It’s far from ideal however we will manage it the best we can and hope to ensure we can be as competitive as we can in both games. We’ve had some good moments this season, as well as games we know we could have done better. Overall I am pleased with the first season in charge of the first team, I feel we know this groups strengths and weaknesses and are in a great position to push forward next season and find the missing pieces to take this team from a 3rd or 4th placed team to one capable of doing what Halswell have this season. You have to be near perfect in terms of results to get out of the CCL , the levels of consistency required is a big demand but I feel if we bring in another 4 or 5 players of the right abilities and attitudes required and add to what we already have we can make that push to become a team that can win the amount of games needed to get to where we want to be. Best of luck to all Waimak teams this weekend and thank you to all our loyal supporters who cheer on the CCL and Reserve boys every week.
