WAIMAK UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB MEN’S CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIP LEAGUE Waimak United VS Parklands Utd 2.45PM Kick off Kendall Park Coaches Comments This weekend we welcome Parklands to Kendall Park in the league before our English Cup Quarter Final tie with Christchurch United on Tuesday. Both games will be massive challenges for us , we know Parklands will be bringing a strong squad and will be looking to get 3 points and we know we are very much the underdogs for the cup game. However the lads are coming off the back of a fantastic performance away at Uni last week where won 4-1 , whilst playing some excellent football, and so we look forward to the challenge both these games will bring. I'd like to also give special mention to our Reserve team who are 3 points off top place and have put in some great performances recently. A number of younger players have really stepped up this year within that group and I have been impressed by the attitude and leadership from the experienced lads who are clearly playing an important role in developing our young talents. We have also had a few 15 year old youth team boys training with the first team this month as we look to continue to give senior pathways to our homegrown players, there's some exciting talent coming through in both the Male and Female spaces at Waimak which is really pleasing to see. Best of luck to Mike and the team for the WPL and CWCL games and to all Waimak teams this weekend. Adam Keizer

WAIMAK UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB WOMEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE Waimak United VS Halswell 12.30PM Kick off Halswell Domain Coaches Comments Another big weekend for both our Senior Women’s teams as we near the end of the season. The CWCL side have a 10.15am kick off against University at Ilam fields. They will be working hard to ensure that the three points are theirs, as they strive to cement their place at the top of the league. The WPL side take on Halswell at Halswell, kick off 12.30pm, in a bid to take the points and keep the pressure on Technical for a potential second spot in the league. We would like to congratulate Coastal WPL who secured the top spot in the league last weekend. The CWCL had the bye last week, whilst the WPL played University on the turf. The WPL demonstrated the continued improvement that we have seen within the squad this season. They wore down the keen University side and finished the game strongly to win 4-1; coming back from being 1-0 down. Although there is a slightly depleted pool of players this week due to injuries and exams, we are fortunate to have the depth within our squad to field two strong competitive sides and we are hoping to come home with all the points. We wish all the players wearing Waimak colours this weekend all the best and enjoy a great day of football.
