Do your Necessary (Farz) , Revere the only teacher, the Beloved Prophet by saluting him often, Serve humanity, behave with the highest morals, and read the Quran in Arabic to revive the soul and stabilize it. Stay away from quarrels. If our understanding of the Quran with the mind is making society around us and us, unhappy, then there is something wrong with our understanding of the Quran. Its recitation in Arabic should be with the intention of aligning us with love, happiness and goodwill for all. The Quran has explained its recitation in the13th Sura Ra’d (Thunder)Verse 28 as: The Quran is the only absolutely authentic source of being in a state of harmonious #submission with the Will of God within Islamic Theology. No #translation is the Quran, because we believe it is the Words of God, Almighty and He revealed it in Arabic. God says in 12th Sura, Yusuf (Joseph) in verse 2: ‘We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’an, in order that it may infuse wisdom in you’

The Qur’aan is read, and listened to in Arabic for us to acquire, ‘The Theology of Servitude’ or ‘ta’abbud’, which literally means ‘to make oneself a slave’. The true Servant of God serves the #creation. In this Age of Mischief many people translate scriptures to suit their agenda and out of #context. Over a billion people will recite the entire #Quran in #Arabic in congregational prayers over the Month of #Ramadan.

Harmony of Islam ~ Irshad Soofi

My name is Rezaan, and I am 47 years old. I studied at the University of Natal, Pietermaritzburg in the years 1993 to 1997 and obtained my B Soc Science degree in 1995 majoring in law and psychology and then obtained a postgraduate LLB degree in 1997. I was thereafter immediately placed as a candidate attorney from 1998 to 2000. I was admitted as an attorney in 2000 and a conveyancer in 2002. I am in law now for 24 years. I practiced as an attorney in Pietermaritzburg and then contracted with Legal Aid South Africa until obtaining a Senior Legal Advisor position at the Kwazulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and where I am currently based.

The work space has become very busy and demanding with time becoming a precious commodity. Whatever spare time I have, I spend with family, try to engage in my hobbies which are cars. I also assist in charity work and collaborate with a few organisations to help the less fortunate. What advice would you give to the next generation aspiring to follow the same career path? Nothing is given to anyone on a platter. Everyone has their own experiences in their unique journey. What is common though is that you will require lots of hard work and perseverance to achieve your goals. Whatever career path is chosen, the idea is to not ignore your core business or profession whilst delving into other interests or ventures. Always look after your core business or profession. This is a journey and does not happen overnight so do not lose hope and stay strong.

What inspired you to choose your respective field of work / business? I always liked to help people and my pursuing studies in law and psychology afforded me the opportunity to do exactly that. Assisting in alleviating problems is fulfilling and rewarding.

Lots of focus, hard work and perseverance on my part but also the sacrifices that my parents made to ensure that I received the education to enable me to attain the successes that I have been blessed with. What’s your company’s objective?

What service, services do you offer? When I was in practise, I engaged in various aspects of law including civil and criminal litigation in both the Magistrates Court and High Court, family law matters, commercial matters, estates and conveyancing (property transfers). I currently attend to litigation matters both in the Magistrates and High Courts, provide legal advice and opinions to Department officials, provide support to other Directorates within the Department eg our Scientists, Vets and Agricultural Specialists, draft and vet contracts and look at compliance in terms of applicable legislation.

How many employees do you have? Although I had 12 employees whilst in practice, I currently do not have “employees” although I also perform a supervisory function within the Legal Services Directorate in the Department.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

To what do you attribute your success?

What do you like doing in your spare time?

As I mentioned earlier, it is fulfilling and rewarding to help people and that ethos still remains. In the Department, there are many beneficiaries that rely on assistance and we at Legal Services ensure that the necessary contracts are in place to ensure proper monitoring of the projects undertaken thus ensuring service delivery.

This verse is very beautiful because it explains that one God, the one truth has descended into this world over the ages in many forms and with many names, but always for the same purpose – to remind us what we have forgotten, our own deep true spiritual nature. When we connect to that nature, we are transformed: arrogance is transformed into humility, greed into generosity, lust into love, complacency into compassion, and misery into true happiness. It is that transformation that the Lord teaches us when He comes into this world. So in this way, this verse teaches a very inclusive conception that one truth, the source of everything that exists, who people call God, people call Allah, people call Jehovah, people called Ram. The name Krishna is very prominent within the Vedas or the scriptures and within history. Krishna appeared about 5000 years ago and spoke the Gita and performed beautiful pastimes of love. The name Krishna in Sanskrit means ‘all attractive’.

I have a message to all the men of South Africa. Unfortunately this message will most likely be seen and read by what I believe to be many of the so called ‘converted’ men in our society who has recognised and accepted their role and responsibility to walk, behave and live under the Godly principles of their Christian faith which demands of us as men to honour and abide by the fundamental principles of God which are enshrined in the biblical laws of God’s Word. As we all by now know, the month of August is Women’s Month and therefore rightfully so there is a call to action by government, civil society and the private sector to take tangible steps in responding to the most persistent challenges affecting the lives of women and girls in our nation. Sadly, this years’ Women’s Month will not be remembered for the courageous efforts of government and many other enterprises who valiantly advocate against some of the serious challenges we face that include but are not limited to GBV, gender oppression, sexism, racism, socio economic rights for women and the right to live in peace and safety protected from the dangers of violent attacks and abuse. This is a basic “human right” for every women in a civilised society let alone in a democratic country, to know that they are safe, secure and protected by every man in this nation. Why must our country be remembered for some of the most despicable, horrific and evil acts of violating women’s rights such as the recent gang raping of 8 women (who merely wanted to earn a living for themselves). Have we as men degraded ourselves to such a degree of perversion that we have not only lost respect for women but lost respect for ourselves? What will it take for the men of South Africa, holistically speaking of course irrespective of race, ethnicity, culture or religion, to honour and respect our women? Let me say this to ‘those men’ in our society who do not respect the life, freedom and liberty of our women and girls—whether she lives under your roof or is a stranger to you. The psychological definition of an abusive, violent, disrespectful and aggressive man, is that of a Misogynist. For many of you who might not know what Misogyny is, allow me to explain. Misogyny is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice towards or against women and girls. Misogyny is manifest in numerous ways including social exclusion, sex discrimination, hostility, patriarchy, male privilege, belittling of women, violence against women and sexual objectification. It is a central part of sexist prejudice and ideology and as such, is an important basis for the oppression of females in a maledominated society. Misogyny is manifested in many different ways in the form of jokes, pornography, indoctrination and manipulation towards women cause them to believe that violence against their body or person is acceptable. The synonym for a ’misogynist’ is male chauvinist (a male who patronizes, disparages or denigrates females—in the belief that they are inferior to males and thus, deserving of less than equal treatment or benefit.

Now lets look at the definition of ’love,’ ‘honour,’ and ‘respect’ for a women. These are the central ingredients for a happy and considerate bond between two people as well as the fundamental elements for creating a happy home and a stable society. When we remove the principles of love, honour and respect towards our women and children in society, we degrade the moral foundation of that society to one of evil, anarchy and lawlessness. To my fellow men of South Africa, we must not allow our nation to become a nation of disobedience and disrespect and allow evil to overtake us all. Let us show the women in our lives and in this nation that we can be honourable, strong and courageous men. Let’s use our ‘strength’ not to force control or attack our women but to build on the freedom of equality. A nation that can stand proud on the foundation of love, respect, honour and protection of our women and children and a nation of men that will see the true value of our women as ‘the salt of the earth.’

Aim to be selective with where to direct your energy, dear Capricorn, and plan to rest or strengthen yourself instead of pushing something that isn’t ready to move. Transits in the first half of the day favor enhancing or improving existing resources rather than beginning new endeavors. There’s a tendency to feel a bit out of the loop temporarily. Doing some deep thinking can be productive, but getting to the heart of a matter can be tricky for now.

Taurus The Moon in your sign all day feels fresh, dear Taurus, but energies early today are better for biding your time.Your focus tends to diffuse. Avoid taking on new projects or commitments so you don’t overload yourself. It may not be easy to do what you want because people who need help or support are taking priority. Or, uncertainties in your social life or with a project can temporarily leave you feeling unsettled. New ideas and promises coming to you may not have much permanence.

Capricorn

Leo The Moon in your sector of career and responsibility all day keeps you on your toes, dear Leo. Still, in the first half of the day, it may be better to slow down, make adjustments, and imagine possibilities rather than pursue your interests directly. Either you need to think something through or make refinements before moving forward. You could feel a little vulnerable or low and temporarily demotivated as the Sun in your sign forms a minor challenging aspect to Neptune.

A slight dip in energy is possible today, dear Libra, although the second half of the day can be about rebuilding enthusiasm. Try to go with the flow rather than insisting on a solid plan early today. It’s a better strategy now with the Sun and Neptune in a minor challenging aspect. You may feel temporarily and just a little out of step with those around you. While it’s tempting, getting out of a particular responsibility can be too costly in the long run. However, life seems a little easier if you take a break from the routine. Save critical decision-making for later.

Scorpio

Libra

Aquarius Feeling a bit deflated is temporary, dear Aquarius, and can be a sign that you need a break or timeout. The Sun and Venus are encouraging your social, involved side these days, but early today, your need for reflection or independence seems to compete with these drives. Promises and plans formed now may go by the wayside later, and you could be tempted to go the easy route. Rather than committing, it may be best to put things on hold until you figure them out.

Cancer Different drives compete for your attention in the first half of the day, dear Cancer, and this can be exhausting on an emotional level. Adjustments may be necessary if you sense something is a little off. You can also be more sensitive than usual, and you may need some rest or special attention to overlooked needs. Watch for seeing problems where they don’t exist.

Virgo There can be some minor confusion or doubt in the air in the first half of the day, dear Virgo, which can slow you down. Solutions to problems are more likely to arrive if you aren’t obsessing over them today. With current transits, you’re likely to be more impressionable, vulnerable, sensitive, and inclined to daydream. It can be tempting to withdraw, avoid, and escape. While you should probably take a timeout, it may not be reasonable to bow out of too much now.

WEEKLY HOROSCOPE 18 – 24 AUGUST 2022 Spreading

As much as you’d like to move your plans or goals forward, some uncertainty can slow things down today, dear Scorpio, which can be a good thing.

Pisces There is a particular focus on work or health goals these days, dear Pisces, but a hiatus may be in order in the first half of today. In fact, you may feel a little demotivated or uncertain just for the time being, and this is simply a sign that there are more angles to consider before moving on. Or, you may not have paid enough attention to your emotional or spiritual goals, and it’s time to catch up or catch your breath.

Gemini Transits in the first half of the day are a little too murky for big moves, dear Gemini, but it’s a good time to slow down, process, and digest. Aim to slow your approach just enough that you see where you might be making errors or overlooking your true feelings on a matter. Listen well to what your intuition is saying, but wait for clarity. Your defenses may not be up to par, leaving you somewhat vulnerable to others’ judgments or comments.

Aries

Career matters, responsibilities, or structure and order can be stronger draws these days with the Sun and Venus in your solar tenth house. Today, your attention to personal interests, daily affairs, and personal life can compete. You may want to do it all when you don’t have the time or the energy. You’re probably better off nurturing your imagination than seeking definite answers for now. Sagittarius Plans may not be coming together in the first half of the day, dear Sagittarius, but it’s likely only a tiny speedbump. Pushing to find a resolution to a problem is unlikely to work out, but pulling back from the situation might do the trick. The Sun and Venus in your spirit sector encourage spontaneity and exploration these days, but early today, you can feel a little torn or temporarily demotivated. Finding a balance between responsibility and pleasure can be difficult.

You’ve been feeling more creative and ready to enjoy yourself these days, dear Aries. This process has ups and downs, and early today may be one of the “dips.” Energies may temporarily drop with a Sun-Neptune quincunx. You may be second-guessing things, which naturally slows you down. While you may feel a little confused for now, this is a time to see different angles of a situation and adjust your plans if needed. Avoid too-high expectations today.
