A MESSAGE FROM THE President

As we all begin looking ahead to the holidays, the Virginia Museum of History & Culture is pleased to share with you this special gift guide. Within, you will find history-inspired gifts, great books, and many one-of-a-kind, Virginia-made items. This gift guide also offers the opportunity to complete your shopping list all while supporting a great cause—Virginia’s oldest museum and one of the finest in the nation.

As a private, non-profit institution, the VMHC receives no government operating support. It is through your generosity, your visitation and engagement, and—yes— your shopping, that we are empowered to fulfill our timeless mission of connecting people to America’s past through the unparalleled story of Virginia.

You know the value of our shared history. We hope that you will choose to support the VHMC this holiday season by shopping with us—at the museum or online. Thank you and happy holidays!

Thank you,

Official Virginia History Ornament of 2025

It features the Declaration of Independence flanked by flags, wrapped in a frame of Dogwood blossoms, and illuminated by fireworks. It speaks to the founding of a new nation, and the leading role Virginians played in making it so.
