SOCIAL NORTHSHORE

SOCIAL NORTHSHORE CONGRATULATES THE CLASS OF 2025!

From the Editor

There’s a certain energy that arrives with summer on the Northshore— one filled with joy, celebration, and a sense of fresh beginnings. This issue of Social Northshore is all about honoring those moments, from tiny caps and gowns to the proud walk across a high school stage.

We’re thrilled to celebrate this season’s milestone graduates—whether they’re moving on from kindergarten, wrapping up middle school, or preparing for the next chapter after high school. These transitions may look different, but they each mark something meaningful. We know behind every smiling graduate is a village of teachers, families, and friends cheering them on, and we’re honored to share that joy with you in these pages.

This issue also features our Men in Business spotlight—an annual tradition that showcases the incredible leadership, work ethic, and community spirit of the men shaping the future of the Northshore. These are the business owners, professionals, and innovators building not just companies, but legacies.

As we step into the slower pace and longer days of summer, we hope this issue inspires reflection, celebration, and maybe even a little time to recharge. Thank you for continuing to let Social Northshore be your trusted resource for all things local—from business leaders and community charities to the events and people that make this place feel like home.

Two legacies of excellence.

One brighter future for our kids.

Children’s Hospital New Orleans – the only comprehensive children’s hospital in the Gulf South – is celebrating a new chapter and name as Manning Family Children’s. Together, we’re charting a bold new future for child health fueled by two steadfast Louisiana legacies. manningchildrens.org

Tim Carroll is no stranger to hard work—or to stepping up when there’s a need. As the co-founder of Aeris Environmental Inspection, he’s been helping clients across the Gulf South navigate serious environmental concerns since 2023. From mold and asbestos to indoor air quality and ESG compliance, his work centers on protecting both property and people. “We lead with science and finish with service,” he says. “The work we do impacts lives in real ways.”

Tim’s experience in environmental restoration spans years, but it was a desire to create more comprehensive, transparent services that led him to launch Aeris. His team focuses not just on testing and inspection but on helping clients feel confident and informed throughout the process.

That same focus on service inspired his most recent initiative—The Men of St. Tammany (MOST)— a nonprofit launched in 2025 to mentor and empower men through connection, leadership, and personal growth.

“There are a lot of resources for women and youth, which is important,” Tim says, “but I saw a gap for men who need support, brotherhood, and a reason to keep growing.”

TIM CARROLL

MOST has quickly become a platform for community engagement, hosting service projects, leadership talks, and mentorship opportunities across the parish. “It’s about men stepping into responsibility and finding purpose—together,” he explains.

Juggling business ownership and nonprofit leadership is no easy feat.

“The hardest part is time—protecting the space for family and rest,” he admits. “But I stay fueled by the impact. Whether it’s helping a family breathe safely in their home or watching men support each other through something hard, those moments matter.”

Originally from New Orleans, Tim has lived in St. Tammany Parish since 2009. He says it’s the blend of values, community spirit, and natural beauty that makes it feel like home. When he’s not working, he’s most likely exploring the mountains. “I’m happiest outdoors— hiking, camping, just breathing in the world a little slower.”

“We

lead with science and finish with service. The work we do impacts lives in real ways.”

He and his fiancée share their love of travel through a blog, Tiffany Takes On the World With Tim, where they document their adventures and offer travel tips for fellow explorers. It’s one more way Tim stays connected—to his passions, his people, and his purpose.

From business to brotherhood, Tim Carroll is building something meaningful in St. Tammany—and bringing others along with him.

The Mutts to Models charity gala will be all paws & poses.

The Northshore’s most anticipated—and most exclusive—night of compassion and couture is BACK on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

Mutts to Models presented by Mercedes-Benz of Covington always sells out quickly, and for good reason: it's the one night where fashion meets fundraising, and every ticket helps us say yes to critically ill people and pets in desperate need of support. This year promises to be out of this world, with new surprises and special announcements coming this summer.

Thanks to your generosity, sponsorship levels remain the same as 2024, and every dollar raised continues to go where it matters most—directly to those in crisis. Don’t miss your chance to be part of something truly unforgettable. Mark your calendars now—and get ready to secure your spot before it’s gone.

Dear Cedarwood Kindergarten

Graduates,

As I reflect on all you’ve accomplished, my heart is bursting with pride. Watching each of you grow over the past months has brought so much joy to our Cedarwood community. You arrived with bright eyes and shy smiles, and it has been a delight to watch you bloom with confidence—whether reading your first book, learning to add and subtract, or standing tall during class presentations at morning assembly. Your courage to try, even when things felt new or challenging, has inspired us all.

Your creativity filled our hallways with color and imagination—from the wonderful artwork you’ve made to the playful stories you’ve shared. Cedarwood has been brighter because of your ideas and energy.

We’ve also been amazed by your curiosity. The thoughtful questions you asked and the excitement you showed during hands-on learning reminded us of the power of wondering and exploring the world with open hearts.

And of course, your courage shone through in big and small moments—making new friends, sharing your voice, and showing kindness each day. You’ve proven that being brave doesn’t mean being loud—it means showing up, trying your best, and caring deeply.

As your kindergarten year ends, remember this: you are ready. Ready to take on new adventures, to learn even more, and to keep shining as only you can. Cedarwood is so proud of you—and always cheering you on.

With love and admiration,

SummerFoodDrive

Summer is often painted as a carefree season—beach days, late sunsets, and no school. But for many families right here in our community, it marks the beginning of their most difficult stretch of the year.

When school lets out, thousands of local children lose access to the consistent meals provided through school breakfast and lunch programs. For some, those were the only full meals they could count on. And without that safety net, summer becomes a season of scarcity.

That’s where EmpowerHER Life comes in. From June 6 through July 7, they’re organizing a community-wide Summer Food Drive designed to fill that gap for local families. This grassroots effort isn’t backed by a national nonprofit or large corporation—it’s fueled entirely by locals who saw a need and chose to step in.

EmpowerHER Life is calling on all of us to be part of the solution. They’re collecting non-perishable, shelf-stable items that are nutrientrich, easy to prepare, and family-friendly. Think canned proteins, whole grains, dried fruits, granola bars, and shelf-stable milk— practical items that make a real impact, especially for families without full kitchens or consistent utilities. Pop-top cans and nocook options are especially appreciated.

Donation drop-offs

A+ Help – 606 Lafitte St, Mandeville

Turgeau’s – 207 N New Hampshire St, Covington

Hat Haus – 1814 N Causeway Blvd Suite 3, Mandeville

Pink Magnolia – 1200 W Causeway Approach Ste 12, Mandeville

These donations will be distributed directly to families on Wednesday, July 17, right here in Mandeville—ensuring the support goes exactly where it’s needed most.

EmpowerHER Life reminds us that food insecurity doesn’t just exist during the holidays. It’s a quiet crisis that persists throughout the year, peaking in the summer months when resources are stretched thin and systems falter.

But this drive isn’t about charity. It’s about responsibility. About choosing to be the safety net for our neighbors when no one else is. Because when we say, “no child should go hungry,” we’re not just offering words—we’re backing it up with action.

Every can matters. Every box matters. Every act of kindness makes a difference.

LET’S NOT LOOK AWAY. LET’S SHOW UP. TOGETHER.

MARCELLE DELAUNE

I’m a full-time art teacher and artist... not to mention wife and mother of three! I have an Art Ed degree from LSU and have been teaching studio and digital art for over 21 years. Art has been in my blood since birth... colors, textures, mixed media and art supplies make me happy! I enjoy working with color, texture, and natural elements to add a unique perspective to

my work. Faith, Love, and Louisiana are three words that sum up my inspirations. God has blessed everyone with unique talents and abilities, it is up to us to use them. My faith is a big part of my life, along with my southern roots, and finding the beauty in the ordinary and forgotten.

M-DELAUNE-DESIGNS.SQUARE.SITE  @m.delaunedesigns  M. Delaune Designs

JK Khamiss’s journey in the automotive world began in 1992 as a young car salesman in Baton Rouge with newborn twin boys at home and a deep motivation to change his circumstances. “I was terrified—but exhilarated by the idea that I could create something beautiful that would allow me to provide for my family,” he says. Rising quickly through the ranks to General Manager, JK has now spent 33 years witnessing both professional and personal success, including watching his sons grow into accomplished men.

When asked what advice he’d give to his younger self, JK offers the same philosophy he shares with his sales team: “Shrink the time from start to win. Stay aware of your actions—they either confirm or contradict your values. Stay curious. And remember, the most important thing you’ll do is the next thing.”

Though he didn’t grow up around cars—born in Lebanon, he never had the traditional garage experience—his passion for the industry runs deep. “I don’t have an

emotional attachment to metal,” he says. “I’m inspired by the people. I’ve seen tears of joy from first-time car buyers, and I’m continually motivated by young salespeople with big dreams and bright smiles.”

JK’s favorite part of life on the Northshore is the spirit of the community. “Covington is quaint and generous, and the food is always amazing,” he says. He’s especially proud to be part of the team at Mercedes-Benz of Covington, which actively gives back through events like Mutts to Models each November. “Laurie McCants invited me into a passionate movement—and it’s been an incredible journey ever since.”

With decades of leadership experience, Greg Klemp believes the most important factor in achieving success is the team behind it. “What I’m most proud of is the incredible teams I’ve had the privilege to work alongside—some for decades,” he says. “Our team today is a group of people who would go through brick walls for each other. That kind of loyalty and unity is what drives real success.”

Greg credits Dr. Herb Flood as one of the most influential figures in his life. “He’s been a guiding light to me and my family,” he shares. “So much so, we asked him to be Godfather to both of our children. His wisdom, compassion, and strength are gifts we carry forward every day.”

Looking back, Greg would remind his younger self to welcome challenges as part of growth. “Experience is the best teacher,” he says. “Every mistake is a training moment that shapes you into a stronger leader.”

At Money Hill, Greg finds daily inspiration in creating meaningful moments for others. “I’m fortunate to be in a role where I can positively impact the lives of so many families,” he says. “That never gets old.”

His favorite part of life on the Northshore? The sense of connection. “It’s more than familiarity—it’s a deeply rooted social fabric,” he says. “Whether through schools, krewes, churches, or longtime neighborhood ties, this region isn’t just a place—it’s a community with a shared story.”

SUPER DAD

Colin MacIver

At 45, Colin MacIver wears many hats— minister, musician, author, teacher, speaker—but his favorite title will always be “Dad.” For more than two decades, he and his wife Aimee have lived a shared mission: to serve God, love their children well, and help others encounter both. That mission runs through everything they do—from leading ministry at St. Anselm and co-authoring award-winning books to raising two deeply loved children, Leo and Zelie.

Colin spent 17 years as campus minister at St. Scholastica Academy and will soon begin a new role at Jesuit High School as Senior Director of Evangelization. He's also the youth minister at St. Anselm, a musician, and a published author with Ascension. His work is rooted in service—but his foundation is at home. “Being a husband first makes me a better father,” he says. “And doing both well helps me serve others better. Loving God first makes all of the other things possible.”

Fatherhood, for Colin, is both a calling and a constant learning curve. Whether he’s blessing his kids each night, rereading The Chronicles of Narnia with Zelie, or playing Madden with Leo, his goal is always to make love tangible—something his kids can trust, and through it, come to know the love of God.

He often returns to a quote from St. Bernard of Clairvaux: “Be a reservoir, not a canal.” That reminder to be filled with God first—to overflow into others rather than run dry—has shaped both his family life and his professional one.

“Ultimately, I want my children to remember that they were truly loved,” Colin shares. “And maybe a few of my dad jokes too.”

One thing’s for sure: in the MacIver house, faith, fun, and family go hand in hand.

Fun & Friendly Atmosphere

Family-Oriented with Parents Always Welcome

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children ages 1 to 4. Most happen in backyard pools, often during non-swim times. At Goldfish Swim School - Covington, we turn lessons into life skills using our exclusive Science of SwimPlay curriculum. Our safe, fun, and nurturing environment helps kids build confidence, learn water safety, and thrive. We're not just teaching kids to swim; we're building confidence, teaching life lessons, and helping them make BIG waves in life.

PRE-K TEACHER • CEDARWOOD SCHOOL

Who in your life influenced your decision to become a teacher?

Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of education. They made countless sacrifices to ensure my siblings and I had access to the best opportunities. I began college on a pre-med track. But after my first year, I realized something wasn’t right- my heart wasn’t in it. During a break at home, my mom gently asked me, “Where is your heart? What do you enjoy?” I told her I loved working with kids. Without hesitation, she encouraged me to follow that passion and become a teacher. That moment changed everything. I switched my major and found joy and purpose in the classroom. My mother’s support helped me find the path I was truly meant to walk.

What is your biggest challenge as a teacher?

A key challenge I face as an educator is differentiating instruction to support a wide range of developmental and academic abilities. Since children enter the classroom with different levels of readiness, I incorporate play-based learning, small-group activities, and individualized strategies to help each child succeed. Although meeting these varied needs can be demanding, it’s incredibly fulfilling to nurture every child’s unique progress.

What do you find most rewarding about teaching?

The most fulfilling part of teaching is witnessing student growth in all areas—academic, social, and emotional. It's incredibly meaningful to see a child build new skills, gain confidence, and navigate challenges. Being part of that journey and knowing I helped support their progress is what makes teaching so rewarding.

How do you make learning engaging and fun for your students?

I create a fun and engaging classroom environment by incorporating hands-on activities, play-based learning, collaborative experiences, and meaningful connections to students' everyday lives.

If you could leave your students with one lasting message, what would it be?

If I had one final message for my students, it would be this: I see the effort and growth in each of you, and I’m truly proud of you. Continue to believe in yourselves, stay curious, and remember that with dedication and effort, you can accomplish anything you dream of.

TIMELESS CHARM IN TERRA BELLA

Located in the sought-after Terra Bella neighborhood, this new Euro-Tudor from Centanni Construction blends architectural elegance with modern design. Designed by Andy McDonald, the home offers 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 1,784 square feet of living space within a 2,538 square foot total footprint.

Photos by Eugenia Lubrano-Gangi of NOLA Real Estate Marketing and Photography

Classic design elements like steep gable roofs, Prairiestyle windows, and a brick-and-stucco exterior give the home its signature curb appeal. Inside, high-end appliances, designer lighting, and Dekton shower panels bring a fresh, contemporary feel. Warm wood-accented ceilings in the foyer and dining area add a touch of inviting charm.

Two separate courtyards expand the living space—one tucked away for grilling, the other open and ideal for entertaining. The thoughtful layout allows for easy flow between indoors and out, making the home equally suited for everyday living and hosting.

Greige Interiors completed the design with a sophisticated interior palette that balances comfort and style. From the curated finishes to the functional layout, every detail was considered. It’s a refined take on modern living in one of the Northshore’s most beautiful communities.

Money Hill Golf & Country Club in Abita Springs has officially unveiled its highly anticipated clubhouse renovation—a stunning, multi-million dollar transformation designed to enrich the member experience and set a new standard for hospitality on the Northshore.

The $3.5 million renovation refreshed 80% of the clubhouse’s first floor, introducing a modernized kitchen, updated interiors, and the all-new Magnolia Room, a grand ballroom that can accommodate up to 300 guests. The newly designed spaces merge classic Southern charm with refined functionality, making them ideal for dining, gatherings, and celebrations.

The renovation reflects Money Hill’s rapid growth, nearly doubling its membership over the past six years. Club President Mimi Goodyear Dossett shared, “This renovation allows us to better serve our members with beautiful spaces designed for both everyday enjoyment and unforgettable celebrations.”

Highlights include new flooring, lighting, wallpaper, furniture, locker rooms, and a fully upgraded sound system. The Magnolia Room—already drawing attention for its versatility and design—adds a premium venue for weddings and private events.

Equally impressive is the brand-new kitchen expansion, a $1 million investment that created two dedicated culinary spaces: one for daily dining and another to support largescale events.

The entire project is rooted in local talent. Voelkel McWilliams Construction led the build, and designers Beth Walther & Jolie Helm Bruhl of Design Studio brought the vision to life using warm tones and botanical details inspired by Money Hill’s natural surroundings—including a hand-painted mural by artist Gretchen Armbruster.

This renovation joins Money Hill’s already extensive amenities—championship golf, tennis and pickleball courts, a fitness center, and scenic trails—solidifying its place as a premier lifestyle destination on the Northshore.

BAILEY + MASON

Bailey Camp Robicheaux never imagined that a simple brunch invitation would turn into one of the most magical moments of her life. On December 23, 2023, she walked hand-inhand with Mason Robicheaux along the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville, thinking they were just meeting his family. But as they strolled under the soft Louisiana sunlight, Mason paused, looked at her with a smile, and then did something she never saw coming—he got down on one knee.

The surprise proposal was perfectly planned. Hidden behind a nearby tree, Bailey and Mason’s families stood with a photographer, ready to capture the moment. Bailey’s shock quickly turned into joy, and with tears in her eyes, she said yes to forever with the man she had loved for nine years. The moment was a testament to their love—genuine, heartfelt, and filled with the people who mattered most.

On February 22, 2025, Bailey and Mason exchanged vows at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, surrounded by family and friends. Bailey walked down the aisle in a stunning Anne Barge Blue Willow gown— a sleek, trumpet-fit dress with a timeless boatneck neckline and a show-stopping bow at the back, which she later removed for the reception. Her wedding colors were a sophisticated palette of gold, greens, and neutrals, adding a touch of elegance to every detail.

The reception at Tchefuncte Country Club was a celebration of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Guests danced beneath twinkling lights, but the night wasn’t without a moment of humor. During the ceremony, Bailey fainted—a familiar feeling for her, as it had happened once before during high school Mass. But Mason, ever the gentleman, was there to catch her, and she was quickly upgraded to a chair with a cup of water, laughing it off with grace.

One of the most unique aspects of Bailey and Mason’s wedding was the close bond between their bridal party. Many of Bailey’s bridesmaids were either dating or were close friends with Mason’s groomsmen. This connection added a special energy to the celebration, making the day feel like one big family reunion.

The couple’s cake was a work of art—a four-tiered white vanilla creation adorned with a stunning sugar flower made of delicate white petals. It was as delicious as it was beautiful, a sweet centerpiece to a perfect day.

For their honeymoon, Bailey and Mason escaped to the tranquil shores of Antigua, where they embraced island time and each other, savoring the beginning of their new chapter.

Now living in Houston, Texas, Bailey and Mason continue to build their life together, a love story that began with a simple walk by the river but has become a journey they cherish every day.

St. Tammany Health System honors organ donors with butterfly release

Dozens of butterflies took wing recently from St. Tammany Health System’s flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, part of an expression of gratitude for the gift of life made every day by organ donors.

“In 2024, we here at St. Tammany Health System had the privilege of working with six organ donors, and 10 lives were saved through organ donations,” health system President and CEO Joan Coffman said. “We worked with 17 tissue donors, and 12,075 lives were enhanced by those tissue donors.

“In 2025 in the state of Louisiana, there were 303 organ donors, 883 organs transplanted, 752 tissue donors and 56,400 lives enhanced. This is amazing, you guys.”

In addition to praising the health system’s clinical teams for their compassion and professionalism, Coffman made it a point to express particular gratitude for those in attendance whose lives have been impacted by organ donation.

“We recognize that, though your loved ones have passed, their selfless gift has made it possible for others to live,” Coffman said.

Following remarks and a brief invocation, the dozens of people gathered were each given a small cardboard “cocoon” containing a butterfly and invited to gather around the flagpole in front of the hospital.

There, members of the STHS Public Safety team raised a flag emblazoned with the “Donate Life” wordmark of the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency, or LOPA, an organizer of Friday’s event. Afterward, the butterflies were released as a symbol of the hope and life generated by organ donation.

Currently, 100,000 people are on the national transplant waiting list. Learn more about organ donation, including how you can register as a donor, at LOPA.org/donation.

That included Warren Whittington, a dual transplant recipient; and Paula Brown, whose 10-year-old daughter’s organs were donated following a tragic boating accident.
