N E W Y E A R 2 0 2 5 President's Message Dear Fellow Members, I hope you have had a wonderful holiday season full of time spent with family and friends. These times together are really important. Not only do these connections bring joy and meaning to our lives, but recent research has shown that these social connections (along with exercise, diet, and sleep) increase people’s health spans—not just extending life but extending the healthy portion of life.

As I mentioned in the December newsletter, it is strengthening these personal connections where Vicmead excels. Unlike larger clubs, we truly know and are friends with our fellow members. This is at the core of Vicmead and what we believe will be vitalized with the proposed clubhouse project.

I hope that all of you will join us on Wednesday, January 15th at 6:00 p.m. to hear about the clubhouse plan. The extremely talented Ad Hoc committee has taken what you said that you wanted through surveys, focus groups, individual meetings, and emails, along with the Club’s strategic goals, and married it all with the knowledge of our staff and industry experts to develop a masterful plan.

At this meeting, you will see many of the things that you might be expecting: an updated workable kitchen, a pub that you can feel comfortable coming to alone or with a group, an updated cozy dining room, fireplaces, etc. Many of us might argue for more of one aspect of the plan vs. another; this is natural as we all use the Club slightly differently. But the aspects that you will hear about that are most important surround UTILIZATION and RELEVANCE; that ultimately leads to SUSTAINABILITY as a club.

The committee’s synthesis of the data and feedback has allowed for the development of a creative plan that will ultimately increase the usage of the Club and provide more social connections. That increase in activity leads to being open more often in a financially sound manner. More importantly, the proposed changes will make the club more desirable for all of us as current members and for those in our community that we want to invite to join our club.

This relevance in the community to be the club of choice for prospective members is critical for the long-term sustainability of Vicmead. As you will see January 15, this point cannot be overemphasized.

As a fellow member, I wish that I could tell you that keeping things as they are is a practical option.

The committee, full of industry experts, has done an amazing job at ensuring the plan is sized right, impactful for the membership, and a draw to prospective members, to be successful as a club. I believe in my heart that the plan is just what the Club needs at this time and nothing more.

I’m looking forward to seeing you January 15th to hear about the exciting changes in store for all of us.

Finally, the next page outlines the 2025 tournament registration information. Like last year, the registration window for our major Club events will go live 100 days before the event date. The window to register will be open for one week and followed by a lottery if oversubscribed.

The lottery process will remain the same as it was last year.

THE 2025 TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION PROCESS Last season, we worked with the Golf Committee and introduced an improved registration process for our Member-Guest Tournaments. Due to its success, we look forward to continuing this process for 2025. The below information serves a as a great resource for those interested in competing in these highly sought after tournaments.

The registration window will open for one week on the Club website beginning 100 days prior to the tournament date. After registration has ended, If the event is oversubscribed, then a lottery will take place. The lottery details will be outlined in a video presentation available for view on the Club website and in the weekly golf email send on Monday, January 6th.
