Dear Fellow Members,
As we transition from an eventful June into July, I’m excited to share a few updates. This past month we were welcomed with beautiful weather, warm hospitality and remarkable food. Our recent celebrations on the courts and greens have been nothing short of spectacular, thanks to the dedication and seamless organization by our Sports Professionals, Clubhouse & Culinary team.
As we approach the July 4th holiday, please note the adjusted schedule for our facilities. The golf course will remain open and operate on the weekend schedule for Wednesday, July 3rd & Thursday, July 4th. On Thursday, a special Vicmead BBQ will be available from 11:00 a.m. – 4: 00 p.m., and the pool and ice cream window remain open until 6:00 p.m. For our younger members, the All Sports Camp, Golf Camp & Junior Tennis Academy are in full swing. There is still room for your junior and their friends to join us at the Club in this safe and engaging environment. Be sure to look at the calendar to see which options are available each week.
As we continue to enjoy both campuses, I would like to remind everyone to be mindful of the applicable dress code. While at Vicmead, cover ups, shirts and shoes are required on the terrace. When playing on a racquets court, appropriate footwear and shirts must be worn at all times. If you are venturing to
Bidermann, please be mindful that no denim is permitted and collared shirts must be tucked in for gentleman.
Looking ahead, I encourage you to reserve early for the Farm to Terrace Dinner on September 7th, this typically sells out quickly and is a perfect evening of farm fresh ingredients and unbelievable view. Reservations are recommended for all of our suppers to ensure you enjoy a seamless dining experience, although we also offer relaxed, no-reservation options on Friday evenings at the Bidermann Bunker (4:00 p.m. – Dusk) and Sunday afternoons during The Meet at Vicmead (4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.).
I wish you and your loved ones a joyous and safe Independence Day celebration.
Warm regards,
David Solacoff, M.D. President

Golf Performance Training
Racquet Performance Training
Achieve lower scores, decrease pain, enhance your power, and reduce injury risk with our specialized Golf Performance Training program. Conducted by a Titleist Performance Institute Certified Professional with over a decade of golf fitness experience, this program starts with a TPI Evaluation to identify your individual strengths and weaknesses. The training initially focuses on corrective exercises to address physical attributes that negatively affect your swing, such as the ability to separate, maintain balance, torso turn, and stay over the ball.
Tailored to meet the unique needs of racquet sport athletes, our Racquet Performance Training program aims to minimize injury risk and boost sports performance through mobility, agility, strength, and power training. The program includes fitness assessments, personalized corrective exercises, plyometrics (considering injury history), strength, and core training to ensure comprehensive development and peak performance on the court.

Patrick Michener Golf Course Superintendent
The golf season is off to a wonderful start. Our Golf Course Maintenance team is fully staffed and continues to perform at a very high level. The last two years of project work have clearly enabled the condition and playability of our course to reach new heights.
The new irrigation system has already made a big difference in the condition of the golf course. This was noticeable during various stretches of very dry weather this spring. The team’s ability to manage the use of water to support healthy turf conditions has made a considerable difference in the playability of the rough throughout the course while maintaining firm conditions on the playing surfaces. The team is still fine tuning the system, and this will occur most of the year, but it is important to note that the installation is entirely complete, and the system is fully functional. The technology associated with our new system also allows us to be more conscientious of our water use.
The use of our on-site weather station monitors evapotranspiration and use of our soil moisture meters allows us to make informed irrigation decisions. In addition, our water recharging capabilities, or pumps we use to re-fill the pond, are now automated to preserve our important water resources.
traffic: We have limited areas of cart traffic to preserve turf conditions around very important areas. This includes the areas at the bottom of the 1st fairway, around the 9th and 10th greens to name a few. By limiting the a.m.ount of traffic near these areas, we are able to better support playable turf conditions versus compacted thin
Course Accessories: A score card box has been installed by the 2nd and 10th tees close to the cart path. Additionally, trash cans are available for your use on holes 2, 4, 7, 10, 11, 13, & 16. A waste receptacle is also available at the halfway house.
