I extend my heartfelt gratitude to those who joined us for the Annual Meeting on April 2nd. For those of you who were unable to attend, I wanted to ensure you still received some highlights from the presentation, along with the Board takeaways listed below. This year, we celebrated six Vicmead staff members for their milestone anniversaries, ranging from 10 to 30 years of dedicated service.
Jules Paoli, Facilities Director - 30 Years
Alex Treptow, Director of Clubhouse - 20 Years
Joe Dianna, Head Tennis Professional - 20 Years
Larry Dubin, Executive Sous Chef - 20 Years
Guadencio Rodriquez, Grounds Team- 15 Years
Jill Noval, Exec. Admin Assistant - 10 Years
Our calendar of events flourished with over 14 new, weekly, and annual gatherings, drawing increased attendance at the Club.
Our capital improvements were efficiently managed, thanks to the diligent work of the Club’s committees and Professional staff. Notable enhancements include squash court improvements, new outdoor furniture at Vicmead pool and Bidermann, banquet chairs and the nearing completion of the Golf Course irrigation project.
As the season gains momentum, we eagerly anticipate the return of Bidermann dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, along with the reopening of the Bidermann bunker on Fridays (May 10th), and the lively Opening pool party (May 24th).
This weekend promises excitement with Taste of the Terrace on Friday— featuring a transformed terrace menu into tasting plates, live music, and the Bidermann breathtaking view. The following day marks the season’s first Member-Guest event, Dick Wilson Derby Day. Whether you’re hitting the greens or simply want to enjoying enjoy a mint julep with fellow members, all are invited to the Post Round reception, culminating in watching the Derby. I encourage you to reserve for both of these events, as our Culinary and Clubhouse teams put out an extensive spread but want to make sure they are prepared to provide an unforgettable evening for all attendees.
Warm regards,
David Solacoff, M.D. President
