The one thing that I learned at the conference was to rewrite my CareerPlug ads and college employment ads with better expectations for the positions I am hiring for and to include wages etc. I took a lot of helpful tips from this presentation and then from the conversation that I continued to have in the hallways. The one thing that I took away from the conference was that we are all in this together and so many old and new friends truly care and lift us up. No matter where we are at in our businesses, there is someone in our association that has the answer, contact, or tools to help you achieve your goals. I echo what Karen wrote about re-writing ads and including wages. I’ve never loved doing that, but you can’t argue with the data. I also learned, honestly was more reminded, that I have to allow myself to be vulnerable and to accept that I don’t always have the answers. The great news is that I have so many resources through our Association, and many of them I’ve been underutilizing.

One thing that I learned at the conference that I will be implementing into my business is the EOS system. Dave Tonnesen did a great job presenting this and showing how it works and how it will help my swim school. After his presentation I learned that a few of my swim school friends are doing this already and highly recommend it. This would not have been on my radar had I not attended the conference and had the follow up talks with other swim schools in the hallway and round tables. Our association is invaluable and swim school friends are awesome!
