MY FATHER SANG TO ME

ANGEL WHITECALF

Death is new life

Not the crying of women

We change our perspective and see it

Not the smile of the children

As new life

Could bind me, hold me back

Listen, dear one

I am free, a child of star-dreams

My father sang to me

And planet whispers

All those years

I am free and chose the woodland

I didn’t see him

Their mystery

My father whispered

My dogs

At night

We walked the earth

When I could hear him

Away from human strife

My father said

We slept on the ground The heartbeat of earth in our bodies

…dear one, I am free

The song of stars in our dreams

No laws of men can hold me

I sang the song of happiness

..dear one, I have seen and felt I have sought and rebelled

I dreamed of peace and joy At night

I’ve seen the ways of men

My spirit will see my children

And I am free, I tell you dear one I turned away from

‘ll whisper my song in their dreams

them

I touch their cheeks

The tribes and the nation Their laws that bind Their

With loving fingers So softly

promises

A spirit touch like butterfly wings

Their fights

I tell them of love everlasting

…dear one. Their way was not right for me I am born by

And the freedom to be

my stars Planets gave me their minerals I am a child of the universe The Creator shaped me To dream the song of stars To reach to the planets …not to be caught in strive and demands
