Enrollment

Fall 2025

Brief Overview/Context

• As discussed at our October 1, 2025, Board meeting in Executive Session, enrollment for Fall 2025 was expected to see declines both in terms of expected enrollments and an overall impact on revenue (see also financials).

• The Office of the President, Provost & Academic Affairs, Admissions, and Student Life teams charted a path to open admissions for existing academic degree & certificate programs that typically do not enroll in the Winter.

• Enrollment details are provided on subsequent slides as follows:

• Winter 2026

• Continuing & New - Budget & Current Actuals & Projections.

• New Enrollment Only – Program-Level Detail – Funnel Data: We have updated internal reporting, providing a copy to the Board for your review. Please reach out to me with questions you may have related to the provided information.

• Fall 2025

• New & Continuing - Final Actuals. Worth noting that retention of continuing students balanced the miss in new student enrollments. A major shout-out to our Student Life team for their efforts along with the admissions team who performed exceptionally well given the myriad challenges.

Key Metrics: Financials – Quick Takes

• FY 2026

• September YTD is available in the subsequent slides.

• Good performance for summer new enrollment also driven by credit hours helped us perform better than budget on revenue.

• Overall expense management thus far is also contributing to budget favorability at this point.

• We have also completed reforecast to adjust for the miss in new Fall 2025 enrollment.

• The following slides provide our YTD income statement, balance sheet, and overview of efforts during our budget reforecasting process.

Key Metrics: Financial Performance

• Revenue is for September 2025 is favorable to budget by $117K due to higher tuition and fee revenue as well as fewer scholarships.

• Expenditures are favorable to budget by $383K driven by lower compensation Office Expenses and other outside services

• Deficit of $1M is favorable to budget by $.5M. We anticipate headwinds due to new enrollment miss in October 2025.

Key Metrics: Financial Performance: Balance Sheet as

• Cash & Investments - $3.6M decrease in cash driven by a shift in cash to investments and $6.1M increase in investments from prior year.

o Cash and investments collectively increase approx. $2.5M

• Net property and Equipment decreased due to depreciation

Adjusting Our Financial Belts…

Reforecast Fall 2025

• Due to New Enrollment Miss in October 2025:

• Reforecast sought to recover approximately $550K in an effort to achieve a balanced budget. As of this writing, the current budget reforecast reflects the following:

• Revenues: breakeven revenue in line with budget, incorporating additional programs not typically offered in Winter quarters and increasing OT budget by 10+.

• Expenses: Adjustments being made to include a range of expense adjustments, including but not limited to hiring holds as of 10/31/25; reduced travel budgets; organizational realignments. Direct student and instructional services have not been affected at this time.

• Surplus/Deficit: Assuming enrollment for Winter & Spring 2026 and expense adjustments materialize accordingly, we anticipate achieving breakeven budget.

• Our next steps include:

• Ongoing monitoring of revenues & expenses

• Further adjustments to Spring enrollment & expenses

• Review of potential program offerings, including innovative approaches (such as hybrid & new site locations for our existing on-campus offerings.

Strategic Planning:

Building Out the Details, Alignment, and Official Rollout

• Alignment

• System Alignment: Following the building out of the abovementioned items, we will work to ensure alignment with our System’s Strategic Actions Agenda.

• University Goals Alignment: Following System alignment, we will then focus on building a crosswalk with our University Annual Goals.

• Official Roll-Out begins in January 2026
