Key Metrics: UWS Summer 2025 Enrollment
At this time: We are calling budget for Summer
Considerations: Given the tuition & fees increase and the potential to impact online student enrollment, we may see a decrease in continuing student enrollments.
Next Update: July 2025
Key Metrics: UWS Fall 2025 Enrollment
At this time: We are calling budget for Fall 2025; however, it is still early in the cycle.
Considerations: The Naturopathic Medicine & Chiropractic programs are showing signs of distress in the enrollment funnel. We are adjusting where possible, leveraging System resources to assist us throughout the summer. We will have a clearer sense of where we will land in August 2025.
Next Update: July 2025
Key Metrics: Financials
• FY 2025
• Fiscal year completed as of May 31, 2025 (Begins June 1 through May 31).
• Final budget updates on annual performance provided in July & August.
• FY 2026
• June YTD financials will be ready by the August 2025 Board Briefing.
• July and subsequent months will be reported each month thereafter.
Tuition & Fees: Update on Communications
• Student Feedback
• All student feedback came from predominantly online students.
• Concerned with scale/amount of fee increase.
• Online petition circulated with about 70 signatories at time of publication – included parent, significant other signatories.
• Student government asked for my attendance at their upcoming meeting on 6/6/2025
• UWS Administration Response
• Empathizing with students, hearing their concerns.
• Emphasize that this increase is a result of reviewing our current tuition & fees and bringing into alignment with the services provided.
• Highlight that several fees are being wrapped into the new bundled fee, including parking, enrollment fees, etc.
• Note: We will not rescind the increase. However, we will continue to monitor student enrollment and responses over the coming weeks. We ask trustees that if you’re contacted, to please refer back to me or Dr. Dana Sims.
