• Note: we will be doing updates to the guidebook this summer prior to the Fall meeting.

Key Metrics: UWS Summer 2025 Enrollment

At this time: We are calling slightly under budget for Summer 2025 with respect to new students with some potential upside should all of our deposited students start on July 7 and we enroll all continuing students.

Considerations: Given the tuition & fees increase along with federal legislation and the potential to impact online student enrollment, we may see a decrease in continuing student enrollments for summer and fall.

Next Update: August 2025

Key Metrics: Summer Enrollments as Tied to Financials

At this time: This assumes a miss of five for summer and shows about a $6,200 miss on revenue.

Considerations: Given the tuition & fees increase and the potential to impact online student enrollment, we may see a decrease in continuing student enrollments yet to come. We will report final numbers in August.

Next Update: August 2025

Key Metrics: UWS Fall 2025 Enrollment

Fall 2025: Budget v Projected New, Continuing & Total Enrollment –Unduplicated Enrollment

At this time: We are calling budget for Fall 2025; however, it is still early in the cycle.

Considerations: The Naturopathic Medicine & Chiropractic programs are showing signs of distress in the enrollment funnel. We are adjusting where possible, leveraging System resources to assist us throughout the summer. We will have a clearer sense of where we will land in August 2025.

Next Update: July 2025

Key Metrics: Fall Enrollments by Program

At this time: As noted in the previous slide, we are currently calling budget for Fall, which begins in the first full week of October. Note, we will provide “Fall Enrollments as Tied to Financials” in August or September as we near our enrollment period.

Considerations: Given the tuition & fees increase and the potential to impact online student enrollment, as well as recent federal legislation that impacts Title IV funding, we will likely experience headwinds. We will continue to keep the Board apprised.

Key Metrics: Financials

• FY 2025

• Fiscal year completed as of May 31, 2025 (Begins June 1 through May 31).

• Final budget updates on annual performance provided in July & August.

• YTD Financials as of April 30, 2025, are provided on the subsequent page(s).

• FY 2026

• June YTD financials should be ready by the August 2025 Board Briefing.

• July and subsequent months will be reported each month thereafter.

Key Metrics: Financials – YTD as of April 30, 2025

Surplus (Deficit)

At this time:

• Revenue: Tracking favorable to budget and slightly unfavorable to forecast. Increased scholarships and enrollment volume are the primary drivers.

• Expense: Significant favorability to budget and forecast driven by cost containment.

Considerations: We will have increased clarity related to the FY 2025 once May 2025 is closed.

Next Update: August 2025

Key Metrics: Financials – April 30, 2025, YTD Balance Sheet

At this time: Our balance sheet is showing us performing as expected for FY 2025. For questions pertaining to the April 30, 2025, balance sheet, please reach out to Jennifer Gantz or myself.

Tuition & Fees: Update on Communications

• Addressing Student Concerns

• Met with Student Government (ASB) on 6/6/2025 and approximately 15 online students on 6/25/2025.

• We listened to their concerns and answered questions.

• We emphasized that the increase is a result of bringing our previous tuition & fees into alignment.

• Highlighted that the new bundled fee consolidated all the a la carte fees.

• In both instances, Dr. Sims and I followed up with responses to their questions/concerns.

• We will investigate renaming the fee for next year to avoid confusion surrounding “student services” versus “university resources.”

• We committed to capping any future increases to no more than 5%, while also noting if we did have to increase further, we would reach out to inform them.

• We reviewed the potential for earlier notification of tuition & fees increases.

• As previously planned, we will work with all students to maximize their use of key services and continually work to enhance/improve other services that are not currently as optimal from their perspectives.

• Of Note…

• We do anticipate there may be some enrollment decline among continuing students as a result of the increases.

• With registration of the summer term now underway, we will have a better sense as to enrollment impact of tuition & fees increase.

• Also critical to stress that recent federal legislation affecting Title IV funding may also have an impact on enrollment patterns.

• Unless necessary, we do not anticipate needing to provide further detailed updates in future Board Briefings on tuition & fees.
