Music lovers were treated to outstanding performances by the bands "Wut Tyme Iz It" and "Mako Girls," along with Atlanta’s own DJ Greg Street, who kept the crowd moving. The park was also alive with craft and artisan vendors, and there was an offering unique goods and delicious treats from an array of food trucks.

UNION CITY NAMED AS ONE OF THE FASTEST GROWING SUBURBS IN THE NATION

Union City has been recognized as one of the fastest-growing suburbs in the United States, securing the #4 spot in a recent report by GOBankingRates. The report highlights the city’s impressive 22.27% population growth between 2020 and 2022, solidifying its place as a community on the rise.

With average home prices listed at $259,054, Union City offers a balance of affordability and opportunity. The city’s growth is a testament to its appeal, as more people are choosing to call Union City home. Union City’s rapid growth comes at a time when housing prices across the country are rising, but the city remains a leader in providing affordable options, drawing more families and businesses to the area.

As Union City continues to lead in growth and affordability, the community is poised for a bright future, driven by both development and opportunity.

REIMAGINING LOCAL GOVERNMENT: INSPIRING INTERNS

UNION CITY’S LONG-STANDING SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM INSPIRES CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE CITY

Each summer, a diverse group of interns is selected to work alongside City officials in departments such as Public Services, Community Development, the City Managers Office and more This hands-on experience allows interns to learn the intricacies of municipal governance while contributing meaningfully to ongoing projects

One of the most significant aspects of the internship program is its focus on mentorship. Interns are paired with experienced staff members who guide them through their responsibilities, offering insights into the decision-making processes that shape city policies This mentorship fosters a sense of belonging and equips interns with skills that are essential for their future careers in public service and beyond.

Interns engaged in a variety of tasks, from assisting with community outreach initiatives to developing digital communication strategies. They often brought new ideas to the table, leveraging their familiarity with technology and social media to help the city connect more effectively with residents

The impact of the internship program extends beyond the interns themselves. City officials have noted that the fresh perspectives offered by interns have led to innovative solutions to longstanding challenges. By reimagining traditional approaches to governance, interns have contributed to improved city services and more responsive community initiatives

At the end of each summer, Union City celebrates the achievements of its interns with a recognition ceremony. This event highlights their contributions and underscores the importance of investing in the next generation of public servants. Many former interns have gone on to pursue careers in government, education, and nonprofit work, carrying forward the values and lessons learned during their time in Union City

Union City's inaugural Parks and Recreation Summer Camp, themed "Literacy & Play," provided a fun and enriching experience, promoting reading and active play while encouraging children to disconnect from social media. With 75 participants, the camp offered age-specific activities, including Literacy and Learn sessions, swimming, drama classes, arts and crafts, morning exercises, and outdoor games.
