Dèjà vu WRITTEN BY MARK JOMEL MANGAMPO
About the Spoliarium, they were never mistaken; Such is the place of agony, suffering and resentment. Dragged were those who were weak and fallen, The violence and bloodsheds are just luxurious entertainment. Spectators – eyes were wide open, yet can’t see; As the innocent were executed. Two centuries later, we hear a familiar plea, Déjà vu! The painting has been resurrected. A gunshot roared through the alley, It is as loud as thunder could be. Bang! Follows a quick gunfire volley, Crimson blood splattered from lifeless body.
