CONFERENCE USA IN THE BIRMINGHAM COMMUNITY
With the 2016 C-USA Basketball Championships being in Birmingham for the second year in a row, teams were able to participate in a community service project with the Ronald McDonald House. After arriving in Birmingham for the start of an intense tournament week, a majority of of the C-USA teams came together to prepare and serve a meal for the children staying at the Ronald McDonald House. While preparing the food, they also played games with the children as well as signed C-USA t-shirts for them.
BLAZERS SUPPORTING BLAZERS UAB Student-Athlete Development would like to thank the 60 student-athletes who volunteered for the 2016 Conference USA Basketball Championships in support of the tournament and their fellow Blazers!

BLAZERS IN THE COMMUNITY SERVICE SPOTLIGHT: TRACK AND FIELD
This week’s service spotlight is on UAB Track and Field. These ladies have done a phenomenal job of staying active in the community this year. They began the year by contributing to our Shoe Drive, competed fiercely in the 2015 Penny Wars competition, and are constantly willing to help out where needed. Pictured below are some of the great opportunities that these ladies have partcipated in throughout the year including: reading to elementary children at Dr. Seuss Day and a Halloween party with the Miracle League of Gardendale.
