STUDENT-ATHLETE CAREER FAIR HUGE SUCCESS 2ND YEAR IN A ROW
On Monday, February 15 the Blazers gathered in Bartow for the second year in a row to meet employers at the Student-Athlete Career Fair. This year, more than 30 employers were in attendance and there was an outstanding turnout of 125 student-athletes. The Blazers came dressed to impress with resumes ready and learned about multiple opportunities from a variety of organizations. Event participation increased this year by both employers and student-athletes. Enterprise Rent-A-Car sponsored the event for the second year in a row, and brought along Jacarey Heard (UAB Track and Field) who is currently working in their internship position. Food was provided for both the employers and student-athletes by the generous Chick-Fil-A, Wildwood location.
THANK YOU TO ENTERPRISE RENT-A- CAR For sponsoring OUR STUDENT-ATHLETE CAREER FAIR! SET UP A MEETING WITH KATIE TODAY TO GET GOING WITH YOUR CAREER GAME PLAN!

BLAZERS IN THE COMMUNITY SERVICE SPOTLIGHT: MEN’S BASKETBALL
This weeks SAAC Spotlight is on UAB Men’s Basketball. When the UAB Men’s Basketball team has had a day off from beating up on C-USA opponents, they have been giving back to the Birmingham community. In December the entire team and coaching staff headed to the United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Birmingham to help residents shop for holiday gifts and wrap them for their loved ones. During the grueling conference schedule they have made time to make trips to Children’s of Alabama for wagon washing and to play video games with patients in the pediatric cancer center. And this week, a few of the Blazers used their off day to return to UCP to coach others in the game of basketball.
