Security Incidents 

A two-year-old child discovered at a Kisumu home where the body of the mother lay doused in acid. Neighbours at Sinyolo village, North Kapuonja expressed shock saying the child crawled out of the house with bloodstained clothes. According to West Kisumu Area Chief Mary Adhiambo, the neighbors rushed into the house and discovered the decomposing body of the mother. It had been covered with a blanket. Police suspect that the woman was strangled and burnt with acid. The deceased has been identified as a teacher from Ulalo Primary School. A woman thought to be a trader in Embu town was found murdered and her body dumped in Kathita River. It is believed that the woman was raped before being strangled to death by unknown persons The victim, whose body had started decomposing was spotted by a farmer who was working on his farm on Sunday evening. It was then that the farmer reported the matter to the police who rushed to the scene and retrieved the body and took it to Embu Referral Hospital mortuary.

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested yet another suspect in connection to the Ksh.72 million heist from a Nairobi ATM. John Kamau Mulei was arrested at Muumaandu in Machakos County and led the detectives to the house of his 60-year-old grandmother Mary Kyalo at Kalumoni where Ksh.2,389,000 was recovered. Mr. Mulei is the brother to Bernard Mwendwa who was arrested on Thursday last week for also being part of the gang that orchestrated the heist.

A Malindi-based pastor is among three men arrested on Saturday in connection with alleged criminal activities in Watamu. Speaking to the press, Malindi sub-county Police Commander Phillip Wambugu said the three were arrested at Timboni area and a fire arm as well as several rounds of ammunition were recovered.

By 16/9/19, over 300 Victims who have been defrauded up to Ksh. 130K each ...allegedly to cater for Logistics, Training & Transport to Kuwait were waiting in vain for their journey to mature. A suspect at large, allegedly from NYS HQs has been receiving the Money estimated to be in the range of Millions, with the promise that the group would be transported to NYS HQs before exit to JKIA. She is being sought & interrogation of the eight ongoing. Those arrested are; Franline Otieno, Kevin Olondi, Stella Cheruto, Joseph Gikonyo, Catherine Ngendoi, Habiba Shafi, Aisha Mohamed & Mary Ogola

Former Nairobi Governor Evans kidero has moved to court to challenge the charges pressed against him over the irregular payment of Ksh.68 million to a law firm. Kidero argues that the prosecution is biased and that the court must stop the criminal proceedings, which he describes as an “abuse of the machinery of justice to cause injustice.”
