Security Incidents 

Flying Squad Detectives arrested SEVEN People among them Mr. Reuben NDOLO, Former Member of Parliament for at Bustani Gardens along Oledume Rd on allegations of Creating Disturbance & Threatening to Kill. All suspects in lawful custody awaiting arraignment Currently SGR workers have downed their tools of work and now camping at Rongai Police Station as they protest over unpaid allowances. The workers are peaceful but have paralyzed activities at the railway line. Investment Company Centum has revealed that it has finalized the agreement to sell all its shares in Kings Beverage Limited to Danish Brewing Company East Africa Limited. Centum holds 100% ownership in King Beverage Limited. Kings Beverage is famously known for the distribution of Carlsberg beer, Tuborg throughout the East African region. In June this year, Centum also did a similar deal where it sold its stake in Almasi Beverages Limited (“ABL”) and Nairobi Bottlers Limited (“NBL”) respectively to Coca-Cola Sabco East Africa Limited, a subsidiary of CocaCola Beverages Africa. TWO Constables; Hezron Jogoo & Daniel Muigai attached at Menengai & Nakuru P/Station respectively were today arrested on allegations of Demanding & Receiving Ksh. 20K from a Man at Highway Towers, Nakuru whom they accused of Forgery.

Tycoon and Businessman Humphrey Kariuki was on Monday evening arrested by police officers at Milimani Law Courts shortly after he was released on cash bail of Sh11 million over charges of tax evasion. The billionaire, who jetted back into the country on Sunday night according to his lawyer, was escorted by police officers in plainclothes to unknown destination shortly after he posted his bail to secure his freedom.

Rift Traffic Update: Reports of a traffic snarl up along the Mai Mahiu-Naivasha highway caused by a stalled trailer near Longonot police post. Expect travel delays if planning to use this route or use alternative routes.

The government has been directed to demarcate demonstration zones to ensure rights and freedoms of non-demonstrators are neither suspended nor interfered with. The court also directed the government to formulate regulations prescribing responsibilities for clean-up costs, maximum numbers (of demonstrators) and consents of persons or entities adjacent to demonstration zones. The regulations should also provide appropriate penalties for demonstrators when they go outside the expectations of the law. In orders directed to Ministry of Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i, Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai and Attorney General Kihara Kariuki, Justice James Makau also ordered the formulation of a Code of Conduct for convenors of demonstrations.

Reports of an Earth tremor felt by Residents in Mombasa Tudor as well as Nairobi but Kenya Meteorological Department has not yet confirmed. The tremor could be as a result of a 4.6 magnitude earthquake recorded in Dodoma, Arusha and Naberera in Tanzania this week.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has been summoned by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) over remarks he made that are believed to be inflammatory. Speaking at the funeral, Cherargei claimed that supporters of Deputy President were “marking and profiling” those opposed to his presidential bid.  He went further to warn that when the time comes they would “deal with” the DP’s opponents.Should the Senator fail to honour the senator will be rendered liable to prosecution 

Kisii High Court Judge David Majanja has sentenced a police officer to 20 years for the murder of Dominic Oyunge Ontumi in April this year. The accused, Joseph Mauti, was convicted of murdering Oyunge on April 11, 2019 at Nyakegoi Sub-Location in Sameta Sub County. The officer, who had just been deployed to Sameta Police Station from the General Service Unit (GSU) had entered Maximum Pub at Itumbe market and shot the deceased in the thigh, killing him on the spot. Anti-terror police in Bomet have launched a manhunt for a man suspected to be an al-Shabab militant. The suspect escaped a police dragnet on Monday night. Police have identified him as Wesley Kipngetich Langat. He is said to have fled after realising security officers had landed at his Mariko home in Ndanai. A 14-year-old boy at Mau Summit area in Molo sub-county committed suicide following a quarrel with his brother. The deceased, who is a Form One student at Mau Summit Secondary School, was said to have been offended when he was asked not to let the cow to graze in the maize field. According to his brother, Salim Langat, he directed his brother to take care of the cow but this did not go down well with him as he became furious and wanted to hack him with a panga. On his part, Langat did not expect that the matter would turn that nasty, since he was just giving simple instructions to his younger brother as he has always done. A middle-aged woman is nursing gunshot wounds at Shalom Hospital in Athi River after she was shot by unknown people on Monday night. The M-Pesa attendant was on her way to her house after being dropped by a motorbike at her residence when thugs shot her in the leg. The gang robbed her of an unknown amount of money and other valuables before fleeing. The bodaboda operator who had taken the victim home said that he and the victim were attacked by two men who fired three shots. 3


INCIDENTS

A suspected notorious thief that uses drugs to knock out victims and rob them has been nabbed by Buscar management. He is currently at central police station and is believed to operate on the Nairobi-Kampala via Busia route. Victims are asked to report to Central police station Nairobi to lodge a complaint. He has a Tanzanian temporary passport with him.  Names: Abdul Peruri alias Francis Wambugu, Caught on the Buscar 7pm bus to Kampala, and moved to Central Police Station. 

Suspected Al Shabaab militants today engaged in a firefight with the National Police Reservists (NPR), leading to one person sustaining a bullet injury. According to the reports, a police reservist is reported missing following the morning incident. The attack took place in Kheira Ali village, Bambo Location in Lafey, Mandera County. The Safaricom telecommunications mast in the area was destroyed in the attack. Area still not cleared. Police still searching for injured militants.
