Security Incidents 

A crew of a Kileleton Sacco Matatu plying the Kileleshwa-Lavington route are now on police wanted list. Police say the rogue crew are suspected to be behind the death of 28-year-old Florence Wanjiru, believed to have been thrown out of a moving bus. Police mounted a manhunt arresting the driver of the bus but the conductor who is seen ushering Wanjiru to board the bus has since gone into hiding.

Another round of Huduma Namba mass registration will be done over 2 weeks for the people who missed out on the extended period, Government Spokesman Cyrus Oguna has said.

He said that after the mass registration ended on May 25, millions of people were left out even after a one-week extension announced by President Uhuru Kenyatta. The dates are yet to be announced.

Police have arrested one suspect and recovered a G3 magazine with 20 rounds of ammunition, military boots, full KWS jungle uniform, a magazine pouch, assorted KPS Kit, several blank rounds and special ammunition from a house at Obama area in Kayole – Nairobi.  Beer price up Sh10 on inflation adjustments. Residents of a town in Garissa County were left in fear after a KDF soldier accidentally shot himself in public. The soldier was at an Mpesa shop with colleagues when the incident took place. His colleagues said that he had forgotten to lock the pin of his loaded gun and so it accidentally went off and shot him in the leg.

The DCI has launched a manhunt for John Henry Waswa. Waswa was one of the seven suspects arrested earlier in 2019 for allegedly impersonating President Uhuru Kenyatta and fraudulently obtaining Ksh10 million from Sameer Africa chairman Naushad Merali. DCI officers and central bank officials have already nabbed three people who conned two foreigners of Ksh15 million in the pretext of selling them coffee and other artifacts, which Waswa is reportedly involved in. Waswa is also being sought after investigations revealed that some of the payments were channeled through his account. According to police, the suspects, who are close associates of Waswa, obtained money from Kazakhstani nationals Damir Ryskulov and his brother.

Two administration police (AP) officers and a driver to Homa Bay deputy governor Hamilton Orata were arrested for allegedly killing a man at a bar. The officers; Lawi Mutali and Fredrick Makau and the driver whose name is yet to be revealed are said to have committed the offence in Ndhiwa Town in April this year. The AP officers are attached to the Deputy Governor’s residence in Ndhiwa constituency. It is alleged that the three suspects attacked the deceased; Abdinasir Abdulahi where they had gone to drink.

A Form 2 student at Nairobi School is facing urgent brain surgery after he was allegedly assaulted, a consultant radiologist’s report has revealed. The 15-year-old boy’s physical and mental condition have led to him being withdrawn from the school following an alleged beating by prefects at the institution.

Police are investigating the shooting dead of an officer by his colleagues in Kinango, Kwale County, while arresting a murder suspect. A second policeman escaped with an arrow lodged in his head and is being treated in Mombasa following Monday night's incident. The suspect was also killed during the operation. Police suspect that the officer was accidentally shot by his colleagues. He was pronounced dead at Mariakani Hospital in Kilifi where he was rushed after the incident
