APPLICATION GUIDELINES: The Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts & Culture (Tulsa FMAC) created the Tulsa County Music Recovery Program (Play Tulsa Music) with the goal to create an economic boost to the music ecosystem throughout Tulsa County, as well as help local musicians and the live music sector get back to performing. Play Tulsa Music is focused on providing job opportunities for musicians and support positions associated with live music performances. History of Play Tulsa Music: ● Launched September 2020 with Tulsa County CARES Act funding. $190,000 was allocated to 26 Tulsa County venues helping to create 700+ live performances from September-December 2022. The program also offered financial support for associated roles with live performances including sound engineers, lighting techs, and production managers. ● Relaunched in 2021 with private funding. $100,000 was allocated to 17 venues throughout Tulsa helping to create 600+ live performances from July-September 2021. ● In December 2021, Tulsa County Commissioners approved funding through Tulsa County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for Tulsa FMAC to relaunch Play Tulsa Music in 2022. Play Tulsa Music funding is now available for Tulsa County venues to be used exclusively for offsetting 50% of a musician/band performance fee incurred between April 1 and December 31, 2022. $350,000 is allocated for venues meeting required criteria. The funding is designated in two distinct categories: ● $297,500 is available to eligible venues within Tulsa city limits. ● $52,500 is available for eligible venues in cities outside of Tulsa city limits, but within Tulsa County.
Project eligibility: The Play Tulsa Music program is available to the following Tulsa County venues for consideration (Must be a registered LLC): ● Music Venue ● Attraction ● Restaurant ● Bar ● Hotel ● Festival

Application Requirements: The following must be submitted to be considered for a funding allocation from the Play Tulsa Music program (application submission form through PlayTulsaMusic.com) : o
Review of Official Play Tulsa Music Safety Checklist (created by Commercial Risk Services)

Schedule of proposed live performance(s)/event(s)/series o Must include formal budget request (See sample attached) Example for the following payment scale for a 2-hour performance: ▪ Acoustic/Solo- $300 ▪ Duo/Trio- $600 ▪ Band- $800 (based on 4-6-person band) ▪ Festival/Event varies based on need

All venues and musicians considered must be registered in the Tulsa Creativity Database ● Venues: Must register as a vendor AND location ● Musicians: Must register as a musician only
o
Agree to promote each show utilizing the Play Tulsa Music logo and official hashtags (provided by Tulsa FMAC)
o
Upload Play Tulsa Music funded event(s) to Root Tulsa, tagging #PlayTulsaMusic http://roottulsa.com/events/new
Applicants will be notified of the status of their application and allocated funds for their event and/or series in a timely manner. Once funds are allocated and the event and/or series is completed, the venue must submit post-performance items to Tulsa FMAC for payment. Additional items post-performance(s) will also be required to submit to Tulsa FMAC for final payment: o Proof that live performance(s) took place (can be accomplished by tagging @TulsaFMAC on social media for all promotional purposes + photos during performance set(s)) o Performances funded through Play Tulsa Music must include PTM logos on all promotional items (provided by Tulsa FMAC) o Confirmation that all venues/artists/festivals funded follow Tulsa FMAC on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) where possible o Submit invoice to Tulsa FMAC at the end of each month and/or after final performance(s) All questions regarding the program may be directed to: Tulsa FMAC Executive Director Abby Kurin abbykurin@visittulsa.com
