promoters were ‘curriculum development’ and ‘internationalisation of education in any other subject areas’. The realization of the mobilities is very varied. The planned number of mobilities from Hungary to the donor states has been achieved but due to some cancellations the number of the incoming mobilites has failed to reach the planned number. Unfortunately the very feature of our scheme that we hoped to be a means to strengthen relationship and cooperation between the partners proved to be less popular, and the number of incoming students, experts and teachers have failed to sum up to our initial estimate. The decreased number of incoming participants is mainly due to organizational problems (the Norwegian and Icelandic teachers had difficulties in fitting the 1 or 2 week long study visits into their otherwise busy academic year), and partly to the fact that foreign students did not always find our country attractive enough destination. The topics of the projects are also very varied. Tempus Public Foundation had a hard time coordinating a mobility scheme as complex and diverse as this in terms of educational sectors and subject matters. In the other actions TPF is coordinating the various educational sectors are dealt with separately, whereas in this case universities, colleges, secondary schools, secondary grammar schools, foundations, associations, employment centres and chambers applied in the same system. The wide range of applicants came from very different fields: teachers, IT experts, agricultural and technical, food and catering industry professionals, historians, students, gardeners or jugglers received support. Although on the one hand, TPF had to face a great challenge when co-ordinating the projects, but on the other hand it was a great pleasure to see all these projects successfully implemented in a variety of areas, from geothermal energy through institution and curriculum development and art therapy to modern libraries. In this publication, too, only the lack of space sets limit to the presentation of the completed and successful projects; we had ample opportunities to choose from interesting and successful projects, and the coordinators were happy to prepare the project summaries at our request. The next steps are yet to follow, but the budget for the period between 2009 and 2014 has been earmarked and its proportional allocation among the supported countries has been completed. As a result of the above-mentioned study, the application process of a more harmonized mobility programme can begin at a European level, expectedly in 2011. Until then the institutions can and want to continue the co-operations in other European programmes. We hope that everyone can find some project descriptions which may be interesting and informative either to their work or their fields of interest, or even inspire ideas to new mobility projects, not necessarily targeting these three countries.
