Time to Start Planning for Winter Registration!

Winter registration is right around the corner, and the Academic Fair is your chance to connect with faculty about upcoming programs and courses. This event is a great opportunity to get valuable insights directly from professors, so coming prepared can make a big difference! Your TRIO advisor is here to support you through this process, from reviewing catalog options to narrowing down program choices, checking for prerequisites, and brainstorming questions to ask faculty.

To align with Evergreen's evolving learning formats, there will be two Academic Fair options:

In-Person Academic Fair

 When: Wednesday, December 4th, 2:00–3:30 PM

 Where: Evan’s Hall Lobby

 Who Should Attend: Students interested in daytime, in-person, or hybrid classes on the Olympia campus, including courses and both part-time and full-time programs.

Remote Academic Fair

 Who Should Attend: Students considering Remote or Evening & Weekend courses (use the catalog filter for these offerings).

Meet Our TRIO Peer Leaders!

Our Peer Leaders are here to support you! Whether you’re navigating your classes, seeking campus resources, or building community, they’re ready to help. Stay tuned for upcoming events and gatherings hosted by the TRIO Peer Leaders.

Samantha Margerum: Hi, I'm Samantha Margerum (they/she), senior, and TRIO Peer Leader. I love learning about the ever-shifting ways we use language. I use writing as the frame for my studies in community, culture, education, sociology and anthropology. I completed the Writing Trauma, Healing and Resilience certificate in Spring of 2024 and informs my approach to those of us navigating systems that weren't built with everyone in mind. As a TRIO Peer Leader, I am most excited about learning more about your experiences as students, how our lives outside academics shape those experiences, and the connections we have the opportunity to make through that shared knowledge. By putting together events and workshops, I hope to create spaces where we can feel our importance to the vitality of the communities we belong to and find new ones to appreciate, to support and to become a part of.

Bailey Wilson: Hello, my name is Bailey Wilson, and I use She/They pronouns. I am a student at Evergreen in my senior year. During my time here at Evergreen I have mostly been interested in and taking classes about psychology. I am very excited and grateful to be a part of the TRIO team and to be working as a TRIO Peer Leader this year. What I am most looking forward to is getting to plan events for students so I can make connections with everyone and hear their concerns and ideas for future events. Another part of my job I am looking forward to is working with everyone on the TRIO team, to get to know them better and work alongside them to help TRIO students. What I hope to accomplish this year of working with TRIO is to help students feel welcome, safe, loved, less stressed, and comfortable talking to me or anyone else in TRIO about anything on their mind.
