TRIO Updates

TRIO Weekly Gathering: Join us for games, crafts, conversations and snacks! Hosted by the TRIO Peer Leaders!

When: Friday 3:30-4:30 PM (Week 5-10) Where: SJC (Evans Hall 2205)

Seniors TRIO Group: Our TRIO Peer Leaders have created a group for all seniors in TRIO to meet each other and receive peer support in preparation for the future.

Meetings will range from social conversations, talking about graduation requirements, life after Evergreen, and anything else on your mind.

TRIO Study Hall: The TRIO Study Hall is a great opportunity to get study support from our tutor coordinator, find study partners/body-doubles, meet other TRIO students and enjoy some delicious snacks!

One of your TRIO peers, as part of a class project, is conducting a survey to learn more about Evergreen students’ knowledge and awareness of the food system on campus.

Campus Activities

• The Internships Office, in collaboration with Academic and Career Advising and the Writing Center, will be hosting four career preparation workshops during the first half of spring quarter 2025. All will have remote options, and three will be offered in person. Use the following links if you are registering to attend virtually:

• Wednesday of Week 1 (April 2, 2025): Resume/Cover Letter Workshop (Hybrid)

• Wednesday of Week 2 (April 9, 2025): Mock Interview Workshop (Hybrid)

• Wednesday of Week 3 (April 16, 2025): Job Search and Career Fairs (Hybrid)

• Wednesday of Week 4 (April 23, 2025): Job Search and Career Fairs (Remote)

These workshops are in preparation for the 2025 Career Fair happening on April 30, from 3 PM to 6 PM. There will be more information about this event in spring quarter!

• BLISS will be providing a chili lunch in the SEAL every second and fourth Thursday of the month during the Winter quarter. All students are welcome to join and warm up on chilly days. Lunch begins at 11:30 AM and goes until the chili is gone!

The next and final chili lunch for the quarter will be on March 13

Basic Needs Center

The Basic Needs Center facilitates access to essential resources such as housing, food, clothing, hygiene products, and community services, at no cost to students. The Basic Needs Navigator offers private one-on-one and virtual appointments and helps students connect to community resources through tailored referrals and advocacy.

The Basic Needs team collaborates with support services across campus and a variety of community partners – including peer support, transportation, health services, legal aid, family support, and more - to ensure students have the guidance they need to navigate local resources/services and overcome challenges. Bilingual support is available in English/Spanish. They are now offering SNAP/EBT referral support via Unite Us.

When: Monday and Friday from 1-5 PM by appointment only Wednesday 1-5 PM, drop-ins

Evergreen Satellite Foodbank

In partnership with Thurston County Foodbank, The Evergreen State College offers a foodbank satellite right here on campus to students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community!

When: 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, 2-4 PM

Housing Resources

Facing housing insecurity? Evergreen's Case Manager for Student Success provides housing resources and support to work with current students who may be experiencing this need. Email Lane Moss (lane.moss@evergreen.edu) to set up a meeting and discuss housing resources.

Meet with your TRIO Academic Advisor!

TRIO students need to meet with their TRIO Academic Specialist at least once per quarter. Now is the time to make that appointment. You can do so by dropping by our Olympia offices or scheduling an online appointment with your academic advisor.
