Outreach
Committee Report
Thrift Sho p The Thrift Shop has had quite a year –as you can imagine, because of the pandemic. Thanks to The Outreach Committee and the Vestry, funds were made available for our less fortunate brothers and sisters. So we have been helping folks all during this long pandemic. No one, who came within our parameters, was turned away from receiving assistance. Our parameters for assistance are that the applicant must live in the immediate area, that we have not previously helped in the last six months, and we only assist with rent, utility bills, prescriptions, water bills and fuel oil. We have had many clean up days, 4-5 in the Fall of 2020 and the final clean up was October 30, 2021. We were prepped and ready to open the shop once again on November 6. All of our wonderful volunteers are back and working every Saturday in the shop.
With that being said, the Thrift Shop has been open on Saturdays, 9-12. Everyone will need to wear a mask when in the shop. So, come one, come all. If you need a worthwhile outlet, come and help out at the shop. For any newcomers, it’s the brickhouse across the side street from the Upperville Post Office, on Route 50. Call the church office (540) 592-3343 and Betsy will set you up with a time slot. This is one of the greatest Outreach Projects at Trinity, now in business for over 30 years. Helping our local community is what the shop is all about. Our less fortunate friends and neighbors can purchase quality items for very little and all the funds are given away to help people in need. Truly a win/win for everyone involved! Give Betsy a call!! 540 592-3343.
