JUNIOR SCHOOL FOOTBALL

Football in 2018 has been amazing for the ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ teams. Some of our highlights of the season included the Ian MacRae Cup and the game against Christ Church Grammar School, but our favourite was the Ian MacRae Cup.

On 26 July, the ‘A’ footy teams from Trinity College and Aquinas College faced off on Mann Oval. During the first quarter, lots of the Senior School boys came down to support us and the atmosphere was spectacular. All the TC boys played well and displayed some great sportsmanship. At the end of the game, Trinity came out on top, breaking a five-year losing streak. On the game against Christ Church Grammar School it was a very close match. It was goal-for-goal all the way and the closest game all season. We ended up winning by two points.

We thank Mr Bernard Le Tessier, Mr Andrew Hayes and Mr Tony Maxfield (’79) for coaching the boys. We also thank Mr Brad Foote for being assistant coach for the ‘A’ team and some of the Year 9s for helping at training.
