Message From the President
Active members, February 2025
already secured eight accepted bids, with the potential for more in the coming weeks This aligns with our projected growth plan to reach 15–20 members by Spring 2025 and 20–25 members by Fall
A few years ago, our immediate past president and the Board asked for your support, patience, and donations to make this revitalization a reality The progress we’ve achieved is a direct reflection of the generosity of our alumni through their time, knowledge, and financial contributions The Board would like to formally recognize and thank Brothers James A McShane (Marq ’65), Ted Hodan Jr (Marq ’58), Brandon Montalvo (Marq ’10), and Ryan Bratt (Marq ’09) for their significant contributions, whether through mentorship, direct coaching, or financial support at the most pivotal moments of this process.
As many of you remember, reestablishing ourselves on campus following suspension has been an uphill battle. We’ve worked diligently to rebuild our brand, cultivate relationships with university leadership, mitigate risk, and bring promising young men into
our fraternity More important, younger local alumni have taken on direct mentoring roles, ensuring that our undergraduates learn how to effectively run the chapter and implement a sustainable recruitment strategy While many of us took upperclassmen guidance for granted in our undergraduate years, the absence of that structure meant that dedicated younger alumni had to step in mentoring actives daily at the chapter house and demonstrating what it truly means to be a brother.
While it’s easy to celebrate our successes, we must continue looking ahead. The Board has implemented a multi-year capital renovation plan to modernize our now 30-year-old chapter property. This initiative will require both significant funding and time, with ongoing alumni support being essential to our long-term success as an organization.Thank you to all who have contributed to this revitalization effort. Your dedication, mentorship, and generosity are shaping the future of Marquette Triangle
Derek Fennig (Marq ‘04) President, KSR Ltd.

Capital Renovation Plan
In collaboration with Marquette University, KSR’s Capital Renovations Leader Tyler Sutton (Marq ’04) and Capital Renovations Chair Ryan Bratt (Marq ’09) have been developing a multi-phase execution plan with cost estimates to systematically modernize the chapter house Thanks to the ongoing work of Brother Dave Bonin (Marq ’78), the team has successfully distinguished between annual maintenance and upgrade responsibilities covered by Marquette and the more complex, long-term renovations that will be completed over a maximum three-year period.
The capital renovations team, along with Fundraising Chair Kamil Karmali (Marq ’04), will soon share simplified infographics and example visual renderings that illustrate the phased cost structure and construction timeline
Renovation Phases:
Phase I (2025-2026)
Modernization of the first-floor entry, chapter room, private bathroom, mailroom, painting, front walkways, steps, and exterior landscaping. Preliminary work on second-floor bathrooms, including the installation of shower partitions.
Upgrades to second- and third-floor student rooms, including new mattresses, desks, bookshelves, and chairs.
Installation of a new video conferencing station in the study room.
Phase II (2026-2027)
Renovation of all remaining bathrooms, showers, and vanities
Updates to basement flooring, laundry utility room, and initial renovations to the kitchen
Phase III (2027-2028)
Completion of the full kitchen renovation
Sealing or repaving of the parking lot
Replacement of exterior doors and windows ahead of Marquette’s normal replacement cycles

Chapter Update
The MU Active chapter has made significant progress toward full recolonization and rechartering as an active organization within the National Fraternity We want to share some of our successes, achievements, and lessons from the past six months
This semester, the chapter achieved a cumulative GPA of 3 1, with three members making the Dean’s List Two of them, Marco Chaidez and MichelAngelo Chazaro, graduated in December 2024 They were key in founding the colony four years ago and balanced their academic success with building the fraternity for future generations Marco received VP-level recognition from MU for his leadership on campus and recently joined the KSR Ltd board
We also developed a strong recruitment funnel for the Spring 2025 semester, extending eight bids to qualified students, all of which were signed just a few weeks ago. Although overall interest in Greek life was down, with only 75 men indicating interest in joining a fraternity, Marquette Triangle converted 10% of the total pool and has an additional 2-3 students interested this semester.
In January 2025, six brothers attended Leadership and Training Weekend hosted by the Triangle Education Foundation, where they gained valuable skills for executive board positions For example, Max Chruszczyk, our treasurer, learned how to create a multi-year budget and manage chapter funds Members attended tracks on leadership, recruitment, philanthropy, finance, new member education,
and risk management After LTW, we set goals, including holding at least one study session per week, having each brother talk to two PNMs weekly, respecting each other's spaces, maintaining a 3 0 GPA average, and recruiting at least 10 men per semester
Looking ahead, we are already reaching out to the class of 2029 to start building relationships before they arrive on campus We would like to thank our alumni, especially Ryan Bratt and Brandon Montalvo, for their active leadership, coaching, and support. Their January workshop was critical in helping us learn how to meet the requirements of a chapter and chapter home.
Yours,
Chapter President
Carlin Lucas
