Chapter President’s Message: Achievements and Upcoming Events

The Rose Tech Chapter has had a busy few months since our last newsletter, and we are excited to share updates on what we have accomplished as a chapter, along with some upcoming opportunities to get involved in in the months ahead. This newsletter also highlights our alumni, your continued involvement with the active chapter, and how your support has helped us grow as a Fraternity.

Last winter and spring, the active chapter worked hard to uphold many of our lasting traditions while also introducing new events for brothers to enjoy and participate in. Traditions included MAZE

Weekend, Founders Day, faculty and senior dinners, Carnival, and more. Beyond these, we launched an alumni leadership series, hosted a golf outing and cookout for Brothers and their families, and stayed active on campus through events like Greek Games

Academic success has continued to be one of our top priorities. The chapter raised our average cumulative GPA to 3.34 significantly higher than the campus average and the highest among all Greek organizations. These scholastic achievements are a testament to the Rose Tech Chapter’s dedication to academics and the impact our Brotherhood

has on the success of its members.

Currently, the chapter is back on campus and excited to begin the year. We are looking forward to Rush, Homecoming, and cheering on our teams in football and soccer this fall

Please enjoy the following pages of chapter news and alumni updates, and we look forward to seeing everyone at Homecoming in just a few weeks!

to the entire student body about the dangers of drunk driving and the tragedies that result from it. The chapter continues to be active on Rose’s campus, in the Terre Haute community, and even in North Carolina through our philanthropy and community service At the end of the 2024–2025 school year, we hosted our annual Casino Night to raise funds for brothers to attend a mission trip in North Carolina. During this trip, brothers assisted in rebuilding communities impacted by Hurricane Helene.

In addition, proceeds from Casino Night were also donated to the nonprofit organization Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). We were honored to host multiple speakers from MADD on campus; they gave a presentation

Recently, our chapter launched a new series of in-person and online alumni leadership talks. The most recent speakers were Eric Waters ’01 and Ryan Rieboldt ’14

Eric was able to return to campus to share his experiences working for Cummins, along with reflections on his time at Rose. Following his presentation, brothers asked questions about his professional journey, Six Sigma, and his time working

Powerful stories were shared by those who had lost family members to drunk driving accidents, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. We are extremely proud of the impact our chapter has been able to make on campus, in the local community, and beyond

abroad. This was a powerful experience that left the chapter better informed and inspired to pursue future career opportunities. Ryan spoke about his time in Triangle, his career since graduation, and his approach to starting new roles. Brothers gained insight into the importance of embracing challenges and how our Fraternity helps prepare members for life beyond college.

Scobie Leadership School

This past summer, Brothers Jacob Kern and Myles Schulz had the opportunity to attend the Herbert F. Scobie Leadership School. This was an incredible experience that helped them strengthen their leadership skills, learn how to apply them effectively, and bring those lessons back to Rose to benefit our chapter.

This past April, we initiated our 2025 pledge class, welcoming 24 new brothers into the chapter. We are incredibly proud of all that these gentlemen accomplished this past spring. They are actively involved in a variety of clubs and sports across campus and are eager to take on a larger role in chapter operations contributing ideas to strengthen our brotherhood and support the continued growth of the chapter

While at Scobie, they also made meaningful connections with Triangle brothers from across the country. We are extremely grateful to Triangle National HQ for hosting this conference and to the alumni whose generous donations made it possible for our brothers to attend It was a truly impactful experience for the younger members of our chapter and one that will continue to benefit us for years to come

ACTIVE/ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Alexandro Quintanilla rose25, EE

This past summer, I was blessed with the opportunity to intern at NASA Johnson Space Center with the Engineering Structures (ES) group. My work focused on developing ways to automate parts of the overall testing process within the branch, and I was honored to receive the Superior Accomplishment Award for my efforts I am very grateful for the chance to collaborate with so many talented engineers at NASA and to walk away with valuable technical knowledge and life skills.

Looking ahead, I am excited to be living in the house for the first time with all of my brothers. I believe this experience will be a great opportunity to grow closer with everyone, learn from the older brothers on a day-to-day basis, and continue strengthening the already unbreakable bond we share

What a whirlwind it’s been since graduating it’s hard to believe over six years have passed since I left Rose! In 2024 I married my wife, Sydney, and this past spring I completed an online master’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois. We now share our home with two dogs: Finn, a 5-year-old black lab, and Reggie, a 9-month-old golden retriever

Professionally, I’ve been working in the equipment design group at Honda as an electrical engineer, focusing on weld automation systems across North America. Soon, I’ll be starting a new role as a project engineer with DMC in Houston, thanks in part to a fellow Triangle connection.

Looking back, my time at Triangle gave me lifelong friendships and memories I wouldn’t trade for anything The biggest lesson I carry with me is this: make time for the people who mean the most to you Life gets busy, but the effort you put into staying connected with brothers and friends will always be worth it.

Homecoming

Homecoming is around the corner, and the Rose Tech Chapter is excited to welcome all our alumni back to celebrate Rose’s 151st anniversary! We’ll kick off the festivities with a tailgate at the varsity football game, followed by a banquet at Rick’s Barbeque. Homecoming is a special time to return to Rose, reconnect with the chapter, share memories, and see what has changed.

We invite all alumni to join us for this memorable weekend on October 4 Keep an eye out for an email with a more detailed schedule, and see the link below to RSVP for both Homecoming and the Career Fair on the Wednesday prior.

SUPPORT ROSE’S LEGACY

The current chapter is incredibly grateful for the continued generosity of our alumni. Your support of the Chapter Endowment Fund, along with the Building Better Men Grant (awarded in 2022) and the Outstanding Chapter Award (awarded in 2025), has provided essential funding for chapter improvements, financial assistance, and leadership programs for our brothers.

This past year, these funds were used for the 2025 Pledge Class Project to remodel the study room, including new flooring, freshly painted walls, new monitors and a TV for group work and collaboration.

We kindly ask you to consider donating to our Chapter Endowment Fund via the QR code above or on the Triangle Education Foundation’s website. Your generosity directly impacts the success of our chapter and its members. Thank you for your continued support!
