Your friends, family, and neighbors can all make a difference by simply keeping our community clean. Whether you live in a coastal or inland area, all pollution prevention efforts make a huge impact on the health of our planet. Keep reading to learn how you can get involved all year round, and participate in keeping Oceanside beautiful.
SOLO CLEANUPS – The City’s Green Oceanside team encourages individuals to “pack in, pack out” and take the initiative and responsibility to keep their own neighborhood, park, or beach clean! You can even go a step further and do a solo cleanup wherever you are. It’s easy– grab some gloves, bags, or buckets to collect debris and bring home what you collect to sort into your carts! Don’t forget to share your journey with @ Oceanside_Water on Instagram or @CityOceanside on Facebook to inspire others to do the same in their community.
QUARTERLY NEIGHBORHOOD CLEANUPS – New this year, the City’s Green Oceanside team will host Quarterly Neighborhood Cleanups at City Parks and Community Resource Centers in collaboration with Neighborhood Services and Code Enforcement. These cleanups are a great way for residents to come together to remove debris from local neighborhoods, and even bring gently used items to local donation entities on-site. Grab your gloves, sturdy shoes, and a reusable water bottle for these events! Dumpsters will be available for the recycling of e-waste, and 14
disposal of junk, debris, trash, and large landfill items. Please note, household hazardous waste and sharps will not be accepted.
