Say no to animal testing by Kiri from Fabulous Hair Company Fabulous Hair Company 382 Green Lanes, N13 5PD Tel: 020 8886 7070 Welcome to the Spring issue, let's hope the weather improves from here on in! I’m glad to see the disruptions of the cycle lane nearing to an end but sad to see so many shops empty in Palmers Green. Let’s hope Enfield Council have got this right only time will tell. On a personal note you might see me riding an Urbo bike as I try to embrace the new changes to our high road. In this month’s article I want to look at cruelty free hairdressing, at Fabulous Hair we partner ourselves with Paul Mitchell products. In 1980, Paul Mitchell became the first professional beauty company to publicly stand up against animal testing. Now 38 years later, that pledge to our furry friends remains a driving force in all that we do. A few ago, Paul Mitchell® Co-founder John Paul DeJoria made the decision to stop selling our products in China when animal testing became a mandate, reaffirming our steadfast commitment to being

cruelty-free. If you don’t use hair colour now, chances are you will at some point in your life. Some people never colour their hair. Others, well let’s just say they don’t even remember their natural hair colour but for many females hair colouring tends to a monthly routine. What most people don’t even realise is that some hair colours can be tested on animals. Of course, there are companies that do not and have never tested on animals like Paul Mitchell, and that’s why it is important to be informed. Ask your salon stylist and know what you are promoting when you colour your hair from companies that do test on animals verses a company that does not. I would

ask your hairdresser what products they use, and do they know if they test their products on animals, if you want to check for yourself visit Beauty without Bunnies online. In the modern world surely we do not need to continue testing on animals. Fabulous are proud to be supporting Hazelwood School at their upcoming Ladies Night on Friday, 27 April. We will be styling the models hair and look forward to seeing them strut their stuff on the catwalk. Pop along if you're free tickets are £5 on the door.

If you have any questions that need answering quickly regarding your hair care, please email me at kc@fabuloushaircompany.com and I will get back to you soon as I can. Pain is so much more than “It hurts” by Nicola Forward, your local Amatsu Practitioner

When we think of pain we might think “ouch”, “discomfort”, “annoying”, but I have started to understand from my clients that pain can mean so much more. It can mean being unable to do the gardening, worrying about being invited out for dinner as it involves sitting for too long, being unable to play the sports you love or having your sleep disturbed. It could mean that simple household tasks are not so easy or maybe brushing your hair or tying your shoes has become difficult. Amatsu client, Sallie contacted me with pain in her lower back that radiated down through her legs. She said: “It’s beginning to affect my concentration and energy levels. Being a dog owner and keen walker, life was getting pretty miserable as the pain was becoming more constant.” She decided to investigate Amatsu, having read some very positive reports and she was particularly attracted to our non-invasive and holistic approach to client wellbeing. I’ll let Sallie describe her experience.

“I was amazed to find considerable improvement after just one session with Nicola, remaining free of the usual pain for several days, before it returned but on a much milder scale. “The improvement continued after session two, with a slightly longer period of pain relief, and after the third treatment, the pain had almost completely disappeared. The previously reduced range of movement in my hips also improved and I found that my energy and concentration levels were much better. “Nicola is a very welcoming and calming practitioner and I soon became very comfortable with the specific movements that she utilises in order to correct posture and movement. “I’m looking forward to further sessions with Nicola in order to maintain my corrected

posture and new-found energy levels!” With Amatsu, I very gently realign your body releasing your habitual postural tensions helping to relieve your pain. After each session together I suggest simple ‘self-maintenance’ for you to fit in between our sessions to help support your health and wellbeing. Sallie and I are both very pleased with the results from Amatsu and for the most part Sallie has now taken charge of her own self-care with an occasional ‘Amatsu tweak’.
