Welcome to Buddy’s Book Review!
A review of our favorite children’s books here at The Nest Schools. We thoroughly believe in the power of literature, and we are excited to introduce wonderful new children’s books to our families in hopes that they will expand their own home libraries as we expand our own!
How do we review and rate each book?
We rate in terms of its likeness to our core values: KINDNESS, WELLNESS, INNOVATION, and FUN. Five feathers will be given for the core value we think each book best represents.

Here’s why we implement it in our younger classrooms
Most young children begin to talk around the age of 12 months old, while some infants even try to communicate with their parents and caregivers even earlier!
One way of helping our young children express their feelings, wants, and needs without crying and the frustration of a lack of understanding from adults is through simple sign language, commonly known as 'Baby Core Signs.' These core signs include words like milk, sleep, play, all done, more, mother, father, etc.

This family fun activity combines outdoor adventure with observational skills and creativity, making it a great way to capture the last days of summer. Once the scavenger hunt is complete, review the photos together. Discuss what they found, why each item is special, and any interesting observations.
