Even on busy days, a small moment of calm can make a big difference. Try one of these quick resets today:

One-Minute Mindful Breathing:

Close your eyes. Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat.

Step Outside:

Take a 5-minute walk or simply stand in the sun. Fresh air = fresh energy.

Hydrate Check:

Take a sip of water right now. You’re doing your body a favor!

Mood Booster:

Put on a song that makes you smile. Dance break optional, but encouraged.

In a field where your heart is your greatest tool, it’s easy to pour every ounce of energy into the little ones in your care. But remember your well-being matters just as much. You can only give your best when you feel your best. So take a deep breath and give yourself the same kindness and patience you so freely offer to others. You deserve it.

Finger painting gave the babies an opportunity for early creative expression. Through touching, smearing and exploring the paint, each child created marks that were uniquely their own. This activity allowed them to express curiosity and individuality while engaging in a joyful sensory experience.

This morning we set out large pieces of paper at the art easel for children to work with one another collaboratively. This will teach them how to work together with each other to create something while also taking turns and sharing! this is also a good way to work on our creative expression skills and fine motor skills!

SPLAT! SPLAT! Who knew fly swatters and paints could be so much fun! Our toddlers are little artists in the making! Today, we explored fly swatters painting, and this is a fun way to make art and color mixing. This messy but meaningful activity brought more than just laughter and excitement! Our Ducklings loved watching the unique designs their fly swatters splat, and swirl was a chance to explore cause and effect, strengthen fine and gross motor skills, practice creativity, supports color recognition, hand-eye coordination, self-expression, and builds focus and patience.

ParentTestimonials

We have been at The Nest for over a year now and absolutely love it! They do so many fun activities with our toddler like painting and sensory play. I feel at ease knowing there are wonderful teachers like Miss Emily there to care for son. I look forward to the pictures she posts of him on the app all day.

Westlake

We’ve been bringing our son here since he was about 12 weeks old (now 18 months for reference) and I can’t tell you how amazing our experience has been. Our son loves his teachers and we have a great rapport with them as well as Liz who runs the school. Choosing a daycare was a difficult decision for us as you’re choosing who gets to teach and help raise your little one(s). But right from the start we felt right at home with The Nest here in Westlake. Our son is thriving and we know he’s getting excellent care from start to finish each day. He also gets fresh meals 3 times a day in between playing, learning, and resting. Thank you to the best nest for helping us with our most precious possession.

Since enrolling our son at The Nest, we’ve seen incredible growth and development in him. The staff creates such a warm and welcoming environment, and he is always excited to go to school each day. What truly stands out are the unique, interactive activities they do with the kids everything is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and confidence. It’s clear how much he has learned and grown socially, emotionally, and academically since starting here. A very special thank you goes to Morgan, Leyanna, Tori, and Azra you’ve each had such a direct impact on our son’s day-today care and happiness. The comfort and trust he feels with you is priceless, and as parents, it means the world to us to know he is so well cared for. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at The Nest, and we highly recommend it to any family looking for a nurturing, engaging, and supportive childcare school.
