Liberty High girls golfers ace state tournament

Coached by Kyle Pooler, Liberty High took fifth place in the Girls Golf Division 1 State Championship. Mattison Frick, a junior, took the state championship. After scores of 76 and 75 in the two-round tournament left her in a tie for first place, she kept her nerve and won a one-hole playoff. Frick continues to excel for the Lady Lions. Last year, she was third in the state as a sophomore—after also finishing third in her freshman year. Following close in her footsteps is Brooke McGlasson, a sophomore who tied for seventh place out of 80 golfers. She carded scores of 80 and 76.
