INDIVIDUAL COACHING

Individual Coaching is available by the hour and ½ hour lessons along with on course lessons. These sessions will typically include a brief interview with your child’s coach to find out how he or she would like to spend their time and what it is you hope for your child to achieve during his lesson. Your child's coaching time will be spent on full-swing, short game, putting or on the golf course practicing course management and situational shots.

Video analysis of their swing is included at no additional charge depending on coaches and a wrap-up discussion summarizing what they need to work on as part of the closing comments. Please keep in mind that independent practice sessions along with regular (i.e. weekly or biweekly) instructional sessions with an instructor have been proven to be the most effective in improving and maintaining a good golf swing.

Playing at a better pace is not about hurrying up or rushing around the course. It is simply about being more efficient with your valuable time, as well as everyone else’s. Adopting this mindset and not being afraid to share it with your fellow players will ultimately add enjoyment to your golf experience. Here are some recognized tips for improving pace of play so you can play a round of golf in 4 -hours or less. This applies for groups of Two, Three, Four and Five which are all held to the same 4 -hour pace or less.

Be efficient on the putting green - Mark your ball and lift ad clean it when you arrive at the putting green so you will be ready to replace it when it is your turn to play. You can usually line up your putt while others are putting, without disturbing them. Leave your clubs on the side of the putting green closest to the next tee and leave the green promptly after holing out. Wait until the next tee to record your score.

Minimize your time on the tee - On the tee it is usually acceptable for players to “hit when ready.” You can also save time by playing a provisional ball (Rule 27-2) if you think your original ball might be lost or out of bounds.

Plan your shot before you get to your ball - Once you are off the tee, think ahead. Determine your yardage and make your club selection before it is your turn to play. Very often, you can do this while others are playing, without disruption. If you take your glove off between shots, have it back on before it is your turn to play. Even a small step like this saves time.

Keep your pre-shot routine short - Pick your line of play once and trust yourself. Try to take no more than one practice swing, then set up to the ball and play your shot. Most importantly, be ready to hit when it is your turn. Be efficient after your shot too. Start moving toward your next shot promptly.

Be helpful to others in your group - Follow the flight of all tee shots, not just your own. Once in the fairway, help others look for their ball if you already know the yours is. Volunteer to fill in a divot or rake a bunker for another player if needed. Be ready to attend the flagstick for others.

GOLFCOURSE ETIQUETTE

Members & Guests using the golf course should do their part to make a round of golf a pleasant experience for everyone at the Club. Here are some suggestions:

 Do not waste time. Anticipate the club or clubs you may need, and go directly to your ball. Always be near your ball to play promptly when it is your turn. If a player is delayed in making his shot, it would be courteous for such player to indicate to another player to play which should not be deemed playing out of turn.

 The time required to "hole out" on and around the green is a chief cause of slow play. Study and clear the line of your putt while others are doing the same. Be ready to putt when it is your turn.

 Be sociable, but reserve your extended conversations for the 19th hole.

 When approaching a green, park your golf cart on the cart path on the best direct line to the next tee. This can save significant time. Never leave the golf cart in front of the green where you will have to go back and get it while the following Players wait for you to get out of the way.

 When play of a hole is completed, leave the green promptly and proceed to the next tee without delay. Do the scoring for the completed hole while the others in your group are playing from the next tee.

 If you are not holding your place on the course (see General Golf Rules), allow the Players behind to play through.

OPERATION 36 PLAYING WITH A COACH

There are many different ways of taking a golf lesson. But a lesson on the golf course, not only enhances the understanding of your golf swing, but it will take you to the next level of developing proper golf course management. During a playing lesson you will learn how to think on a golf course. Many golfers ruin their game by over analyzing their swing during play. Good course management skills lend itself to a successful day on the golf course. Consider the following as part of the instruction during a playing lesson:

 Golf club selection

 Understanding the terrain or lie of the ball and stance adjustments

 Shot selection and analyzing wind direction

 Judgment of distance and yardage

 Rules of golf (discussion as the situation demands)

 Etiquette of play "Rules of Golf"

 Pace of play, playing through, letting others play through

 Relaxation, patience, endurance and enjoying the golf course

 The Golf Shop will coordinate afternoon tee times

 Rates are based on an hourly rate

This is the most overlooked lesson format of them all, yet possibly the most valuable towards the development of your game. The format of a playing lesson should be arranged to be played with just you and up to 2 juniors and your instructor. This is a lesson, don’t bring a gallery! A playing lesson can take more time per hole than a normal round of golf.
