INTERIOR DESIGN

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Virginia Commonwealth University in the United States, and later completed my Master’s degree in the same field at the University of Westminster. Throughout my academic journey, I have gained valuable insights and skills in interior design.
Furthermore, I have gained extensive practical experience through four internships in the fields of interior design and architecture. During these experiences, I worked on a diverse range of projects spanning residential, retail, fashion brand commercial districts, and architectural competitions. These opportunities have enriched my understanding of the industry and refined my abilities in project management, design development, and client collaboration.

Project statement:
This is a competition project that I participated in during my internship, to design a viewing platform at the top of the mountain that allows tourists to overlook the scenery below. This new gazebo with accessible roof not only provides shelter for the platform, but also offers a rich landscape experience at different levels.

This project is based on the brand culture of Swellfun, and in order to let customers better understand and taste their liquor products to form an experience museum. To a certain extent, it forms a linkage with the museum of this brand, which is like a miniature version of the Swellfun Museum. Its function is not only a traditional store or flagship store, but also an integration of tasting experience, communication, sales and service, so that customers can feel the brand history, culture and products at a deep level and in an all-round way.

Work experience project, Individual project
This is a residential project covering an area of 80 square meters. I independently completed the first phase of conceptual design, lighting design as well as early stages of spatial distribution dimensions and furniture construction dimensions. Blending Eastern traditional elements with modern minimalism to meet the client’s specifications and vision.

The project is designed for a retail store. But the function is not only a shop but also giving people an explorative experience that aims to release inhibitions and display the colorful nature of our souls.
In this project, it was important to create a relationship that ties together the art and the product within a space.

Everyone has a body. Life on Earth is held within it, made possible by natural selection, and in our case, a sentient being, the most sophisticated biological machine ever created.
This inclusive space celebrates our differences, our stories, our bodies and our connection to one another.
Release your inhibitions and ask yourself how wild.
Through the artwork of artists, I get some inspiration for thinking about the body and integrating their artwork into our space.
Wild is a process in which people become openminded, a process in which people become more and more understand and loves themselves.
In this process, we are becoming more and more mature. We are also creatures in nature, and we can also enjoy wild growth. Through the artist's paintings of nature, especially flowers, I also thought of the process of flowers blooming slowly. As the flowers gradually open from the bud shape, that can be seen as "opening their hearts", and at the same time becoming more and more in full bloom.
I connect the artwork about the human body with the shape of the flower, try to create some interesting patterns, and apply them to the spatial structure.
These diagrams represent the simplified process of the meaning of wild.
Blooming flowers are wild. So I designed flower-shaped lighting installation and bar tables based on flowers. The storage shelf in the middle is in the shape of an elliptical cylinder, which looks like a stamen, while the table is a petal. Even some parts of bar table are designed with a cover that can be flexibly flipped, and there is a space for storing wine under the cover.
By setting up a photo area and considering the change of light and shadow to better express the concept, the walls, furniture and most of the ground are pure white, and colored light is used to distinguish the space. The glass partitions are connected from the ceiling to the ground and continues to the downstairs along the stairs, naturally connecting the basement with the ground floor.
The waiting area and the leisure and entertainment photo area are completely separated into semi-private and public structural forms respectively.

Project statement:
The project is designed for people who feel lonely in the city. I have designed five types of furniture, whose function is not only to provide people with a space to sit on or as a tool for people to rely on, but also to ease people’s sense of loneliness, and to comfort people with a soft touch and an enveloping shape.
In the process of design, the form and portable way of furniture are considered. Furniture may not need to be fixed, it can be flexible and portable.
Location: Barbican, London W1B 3AP, United Kingdom
Loneliness is a universal emotion, often intensified among residents of bustling cities. The process of urbanization tends to exacerbate feelings of isolation. The towering skyscrapers and dense crowds serve as constant reminders of our individual insignificance, fostering a sense of detachment from both our surroundings and fellow city dwellers. As individuals, we often find ourselves engulfed by the urban sprawl. Consequently, my focus centers on finding solutions to alleviate this pervasive urban loneliness.
I try to design furniture to embrace users in different forms, including the different expressions of using materials, the transformation of flat patterns to three dimensions, the utilization of daily items to design, and the consideration of the portability of furniture through the wearing form of clothing.
Project statement:
The project is about designing a new office for NEXT which is in the health and wellness industry. The project goal is reflecting the reputation and reputation of the company and to integrate into the local Atlanta culture through design strategy. And because of the Covid-19, the project needs to consider how to make employees work in a safe and comfortable environment. So as to motivate them to work. The working environment needs to be flexible and convenient.
Concept:
A company operates is like a human brain. Some are responsible for running various departments, some for designing various plans, and some for implementing various plans. The human brain works in order and efficiently, which is what the company wants to achieve by designing the space inside the company. So dividing the positions of the different parts of the company according to the functions of the human brain corresponding to the different parts of the company.
