Take on the Lazy River Challenge and walk or run against the current in an unforgettable test of endurance. Water shoes are encouraged and don’t forget sunscreen. Every 10 laps equals one mile, so push yourself to the finish while family and friends cheer you on. Awards will be presented after each race. Participants should consider enrolling in our Resistance Walk program to help prepare for the event. Space is limited, and the pool will be open to athletes’ families from 9 a.m. to noon to enjoy. Want to earn volunteer hours? Email us to help time race participants.

RIVER’S EDGE PAVILION
The River’s Edge Pavilion at Rob Fleming Aquatic Center is a 625-squarefoot area with four picnic tables. This separate shaded area can be rented while the pool is open. Available by reservation, $75 for two hours. Attendees must still pay admission to the pool in order to use The River’s Edge Pavilion. Rental fee is not a substitute for pool admission.

WATER SAFETY MONTH
Stay safe in, on, and around the water with hands-on activities and expert tips during Water Safety Month, June 6–27. Free admission is available during event hours for those who participate. Bring your swimsuit for a free swim evaluation and learn essential water safety skills for all ages. World’s Largest Swim Lesson will be on June 26 at all locations.

HOW DO I TURN ON THE SPRAYGROUNDS?
To operate features, gently push button on top of the activator post until water features are running. Shadowbend Sprayground is motion-activated; simply wave your hand in front of it until the features are running.
HOW ARE THE SPRAYGROUNDS MAINTAINED AND MANAGED?
The sprayground may be closed from time to time. Please note, no lifeguards are on duty; participate at your own risk. Please supervise children at all times.
To rent a pavilion near a sprayground, please call 281-210- 3800 or email reservations@thewoodlandstownship-tx.gov. Spraygrounds cannot be reserved and are open to the public.

GROUP SWIM LESSONS | AGES 3 TO 15
The Woodlands Township offers four sessions of group swim lessons designed for ages 3 to 15. Sessions run June 2–12, June 16–24, July 7–11 and July 21–31 with morning, afternoon and evening options. With six levels from Preschool to Advanced, swimmers will build skills in a safe, supportive environment. View group swim lesson schedule on page 20-21.

SWIM STARTERS
LEVEL 1
• Review of knowledge gained in preschool class.
• Expanding on front and back glide, pushing off wall with minimal instructor support.
LEVEL 2
• Transitional class where partcipants are ready to support themselves as they push off the wall, flip from front to back, and reorient to a vertical standing position, adding in kicks.
LEVEL 3
• A focus on stroke development.
• Survival float, front crawl, elementary backstroke, scissor and dolphin kick, treading water, and headfirst entry.
SWIM WITH ME
• Ideal for 6 months to 2 years of age.
• Must have an adult in the water at all times.
PRESCHOOL
• For beginner swimmers who are ready to learn how to blow bubbles and put their face in the water.
• Participants will glide on front and back with instructor support.

Junior Swim Team is the next step towards swim team. Focus is on endurance and skills. Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool and have rudimentary stroke skills. This is not a learn-to-swim program or competitive team.

SCUBA DIVING | AGES 13+
PADI eLearning is a flexible way to complete the classroom portion of the PADI Open Water Diver Course. The first weekend of each session is spent at the pool learning to use the equipment. On the second weekend of class, participants will be able to experience Scuba in an open water setting! All equipment provided. You will receive all materials and cards upon successful completion of course certifying you as an open water diver.
