Armory Day Celebration SPRINGFIELD — Join us on Saturday, June 22 for our annual Armory Day celebration from 10:00am-4:00pm. This event recognizes the relationship between Springfield Armory firearms and the American soldier. Reenactors in the living history military encampment will portray over 50 infantrymen from 17th century militia, Civil War, World War One, World War Two, Korean War and the Vietnam War. Admission is free. In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to watch 18th & 19th century blank firing demonstrations, tour the Commandant’s House, watch a wet-plate photography demonstration, talk with reenactors in the military encampment, view two new photography exhibits, partake in Junior Ranger activities, and more. Friends of the Springfield Armory NHS will also be having a military used book sale inside the museum.

William Cullen Bryant Homestead, a property of the Trustees. This National Historic Landmark in Cummington, MA is the residence of one of America’s greatest poets. William Cullen Bryant’s verses celebrate this quintessential American landscape and helped inspire the 19th-century land conservation movement. The work of sculptor Beckie Kravetz, landscape painter Scott Heyl, and metal sculptor James Kitchen will be on display at the Homestead during the tour. The Dhira Yoga Center in Southwick will be offering their seventh annual, free, fun, outdoor, yoga this summer. Appropriate for everyone, all levels - beginners and kids are welcome. Bring the whole family. The four free classes will be held on the lawn in front of “The Daily Grind” Coffee House and Cafe, 568 College Highway, Southwick, just a few doors down from the Dhira Yoga Center. The classes will be held on July 10, 17, 24 and 31. The classes begin at 7:00 p.m. and run till 8:15 p.m. Bring your own mat (or blanket if you don’t have a yoga mat). Faith on Fire Catholic Rally The seventh annual Faith on Fire Catholic Rally will be held on our beautiful grounds of Sacred Heart Parish in Feeding Hills, August 22 and 23 from 6pm – 9pm. Our evenings will consist of Praise and Worship music, Eucharistic Procession, Reconciliation, opportunity for extra prayer under the prayer tent and Prayers for healing. We will have four main speakers and lay witness speakers to inspire you. The Faith on Fire Committee, Agawam Knights of Columbus and Saint Martha’s Guild will provide food for purchase.
