Letter from Billy and Becky Dear Partners and Friends, As we reach the halfway mark of 2020, Becky and I are feeling completely overjoyed with the tremendous growth God has blessed us with in both WealthBuilders and Tricord Global. It’s because of His grace that we are able to touch lives all over the world. Not a minute goes by where we don’t thank God and all of you for allowing us to carry out our mission of making sense of making money for making a difference.

The Bible says in Jeremiah 29:11, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’” If this year has weighed KHDY\ RQ \RXU KHDUW , KRSH \RX ƓQG FRPIRUW LQ NQRZLQJ WKDW *RG KDV D SODQ IRU \RX ,Q WKH PLGVW of our most daunting challenges, He gives us hope for a glorious future. When the path ahead appears jagged, He is the light that guides the way. God has in store for us better plans than we could ever imagine! As Jesus said, we are to ŏVHHN ƓUVW WKH NLQJGRP RI *RG DQG KLV ULJKWHRXVQHVV and all these things will be provided for you” (Matt 6:33).

God has set out a race before each one of us. This race is known as the race of your life. This year, I encourage you to step boldly into the race that God has for your life and I challenge you to persist in the face of resistance. As you set out to pursue your dreams and calling during this season of your life, know that Becky and I are always praying for you. We know in our hearts that with God, all things are possible!

By faithfully stewarding the gifts God has given us, we have been blessed with prosperity and growth! Follow along as I do my best to highlight the differences we are helping to make together in the kingdom of God.

At the very beginning of 2020, I released my brandnew Leadership Mastery book in hopes of inspiring and encouraging people all over the world to master their ability to lead themselves, others, and their organizations.

At our sixth annual WealthBuilders Conference this year, Lance Wallnau and I led a powerful prayer to more than 300 attendees, and we were able to bless our good friends at %OHVVLQJV RI +RSH ZLWK D VSHFLDO JLIW )RU WKH ƓUVW WLPH HYHU we offered a live stream of the conference and had people from all over the world tune in!

,Q -XQH :HDOWK%XLOGHUV KRVWHG WKH ƓUVW 5HDO (VWDWH :RUNVKRS of the year. We were impressed by the vast amount of knowledge and experience from all of the attendees. Many were newcomers just beginning to learn the ropes of real estate, and a good handful were seasoned investors pursuing further training.

We also launched our new teaching platform—WBUniversity— that is designed to equip Christian entrepreneurs with applicable and practical leadership, business, and personal development training. Our kingdom-minded course offerings are helping people of all ages build wealth for the kingdom and succeed in the seven mountains.

As we continue to promote sustainable economies in developing nations through Tricord Global, we have received impressive updates from many of our loan clients. David Briggs and I were thrilled to hear that The Farm Uganda was able to harvest twenty acres of crops this spring. How to Run the Race of Your Life

I

t’s not uncommon to walk into the new year with a strong feeling of transition pulling on your sleeve. These tugs and pushes are simple signs that God may be trying to pull you toward what’s next in your life. Many people have a vision of where they want to go or where they believe God is leading them.

Yet, plans can easily go astray and future intentions can get lost amid the busyness of life. This can lead the soul to becoming discouraged, a heavy feeling that we have all endured at some point in our lives. Despite this, God has set out a race before each one of us. This race is known as the race of your life. Hebrews 12:1 in the Living Bible translation says, “And let us run with patience the particular race that God has set before XV Ő 7KLV VSHFLƓF UDFH WKDW *RG KDV GHVLJQHG IRU \RX HQDEOHV \RX WR UXQ WR ƓQG IXOƓOO DQG follow the will of God for your future. Most importantly, it allows you to push forward through the many obstacles that may be in

Step 1: Get in the Race Before you begin running in the race, you have to be willing to get yourself to the starting blocks. Your willingness to learn all that you can learn and become all that you can become is going to be the key motivator in getting you there. I can’t promise that fear won’t creep in at the beginning, but you need to be present in the race that is at hand if you want to win the prize.

(1 Peter 5:10) The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 9:24, “Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but [only] one receives the prize? So run [your race] that you may lay hold [of the prize] and make it yours.” If you step up to the race with a strong heart and a clear mind, your certainty will allow you to run the race God has for you. Each one of our races is unique, and it’s not promised that we won’t run into resistance and challenges.

Step 2: Persist in the Face of Resistance make mistakes, as long as you have order in If no one has told you yet, you’re going to experience failure in your life. There will be times when things don’t go according to plan and life seems to be working at odds against you. At the end of the day, you’re human and humans are not perfect. Luckily, in the race of your life, God doesn’t expect you to be perfect. First Peter 5:10 says, “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, ƓUP DQG VWHDGIDVW Ő

He expects our mistakes and encourages us to get back on our feet after we’ve been knocked down.

You will face resistance in this life, but you can overcome it with the grace of God. I want you to take a minute to think of the ways in which God has been preparing you. Maybe you H[SHULHQFHG JUHDW GLIƓFXOWLHV WKLV SDVW \HDU However, you are here today because you SHUVLVWHG DQG GLG QRW JLYH XS DW WKH ƓUVW VLJQ RI GLIƓFXOW\ 7KH VWUHQJWK DQG GHWHUPLQDWLRQ you exemplify will move you into the fullness of what God has planned for your life.

\RXU OLIH 7KHUH DUH ƓYH SULPDU\ DUHDV LQ \RXU life that require order so you can prosper. I call them the “Five F’s”: family, feelings, faith, IULHQGV DQG ƓQDQFHV 2UGHU PHDQV WKDW \RXōUH QRW RYHUO\ GLVWUDFWHG LQ DQ\ RQH RI WKHVH ƓYH DUHDV ,W PHDQV ƓQGLQJ EDODQFH WKURXJK WKH guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Step 4: Promote Growth Personal growth is a universal human need. I say this so strongly because without growth, we are unable to drive ourselves toward personal improvement. Our growth is vital EHFDXVH LW LQŴXHQFHV RXU IXWXUH VXFFHVV DQG happiness. I’m drilling the importance of this into you because I know that most people live and die in a non-growth environment, as said by John Maxwell. When people get too comfortable with their lifestyles, they refrain from improving themselves. Not only does ZRUNLQJ RQ LPSURYLQJ \RXUVHOI EHQHƓW \RXU well-being,f but it also positively affects the people around you! Your life is made up of a sequence of little moments. It’s your job to promote your self-development and put yourself in the best place for future success!

Step 3: Order over Perfection Sometimes our brain plays tricks on us. It allows us to believe that we are not good enough or not worthy enough to take the next daunting step in our lives. Perfectionism is the fear that holds us back. Yet, we know that in Christ we have been made perfect in the righteousness of God. He believes in our growth and in our improvement. He expects our mistakes and encourages us to get back on our feet after we’ve been knocked down.

How to Start Saving Money and Mastering Your Wealth

ot only does God grant each one of us the power to build wealth, but He opens doors IRU XV WR EHFRPH LQŴXHQWLDO OHDGHUV ZKR FDQ impact nations through that very wealth. How remarkable is that? When we become wise stewards of our money, we rid ourselves of greedy temptations and put our money to work for us. I always say, building wealth is simple, but it isn’t easy! At the end of the day, city and nation transformation cannot occur without a kingdom economy.

Create a Budget

If you want to increase your income while decreasing your debt, you need to start by constructing a personal budget. The hardest part isn’t creating a budget; it’s sticking to it!

You probably know this feeling all too well.

One day you’re promising yourself that you’re going to keep a perfect track record of your money, and the next day you’re staring blankly at all the Starbucks charges on your statement.

What went wrong here? If I could guess, I would say inadequate planning, lack of intention, and being too strict with your money. You may be shocked to read that last part. But if you create guidelines that you can’t realistically follow, then you’re setting yourself up for failure! It’s all about managing your money in a way that is ƓQDQFLDOO\ SUDFWLFDO IRU \RX

If you want to create a manageable budget, you 12

have to start by tracking all of your money. Grab a pen and paper, and make a comprehensive list of the cash amount you have coming in, including from your job, assets, and anything else. Now, the not-so-fun part is writing down all of your expenses. However, these should be necessary expenses, such as mortgage, insurance, and car payments. Once you have that down, take a look at the last few months of your bank statement and outline how much you spent on groceries, entertainment, eating out, and any other non-essential expenses.

Now here’s where the planning part comes in.

Figure out exactly how much you plan to spend each month on each item. This may take some time, but it will be entirely worth it when you are able to visualize all of your expenses before the start of each month. This will help to interrupt the cycle of overspending. At the end of your list, don’t forget to add other things like saving, tithing, and investing. If writing it all down isn’t a preferred method for you, try making a note on your phone or computer; you may even try WUDFNLQJ LW RQ RQH RI WKH QLIW\ ƓQDQFLDO DSSV RXW there. Whatever you decide, make a plan and stick to it.

Cut Costs and Spending Habits

If saving money was easy, we’d all have a pocket full of cash! Jokes aside, saving doesn’t have to be such a challenge if you start by

eliminating unnecessary expenses. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t treat yourself every now and then; everyone deserves to indulge in special moments from time to time. However, I guarantee there are a few expenses that you could cut back on or eliminate altogether if you’d just be willing to make a small life adjustment.

For example, start unplugging unused electrical devices before you leave for work in the morning. Use less hot water in your morning showers. Start packing your own meals. Cancel all those unused subscriptions. You get the point! Saving money on monthly expenses doesn’t have to have a negative impact on your life. Sometimes, even the smallest of changes will help you to notice a difference at the end of each month. I only gave you a few minor ways to save, and trust me when I say there are a lot more out there. Don’t be afraid to do some searching on the web for more saving tips!

Pay Off Your Debt

If you’ve read my Money Mastery book, then you know that a good portion of it talks about how to free yourself of debt and how to step into wealth. I don’t have the time to cover all of the information, but I’d like to give you the quick rundown. What I know is that there isn’t a single person out there who enjoys debt, unless it’s good debt. Debt holds us back and creates PHQWDO DQG ƓQDQFLDO VWUDLQV LQ RXU OLYHV

If you’re ready to rid yourself of debt once and for all, begin by cutting up or freezing all but one credit card. I don’t recommend canceling your accounts because that could negatively impact your credit score. Instead, just stop using the accounts and work on paying them off.

Once you manage to get down to one credit card, work on paying off your current charges.

You ultimately want to reach the point where you can get rid of the last card altogether. Now, once you’ve completed that step, you’re going to want to start a smooth pattern of making the minimum payments on all your debts. Start to list out all of your current debts including your mortgage, car debt, credit card, school payment, etc.

Begin to list the debt, the balance, and your current monthly payment. Then, divide the minimum monthly payment into the balance

DQG ƓQG WKH QXPEHU RI PRQWKV LW ZLOO WDNH WR ƓQLVK HDFK GHEW 6WDUW ZLWK WKH GHEW WKDW FDQ EH paid in the shortest number of months. Not the one with the highest interest rate! Determine your winning percentage, which is going to be the extra room in your budget. I usually suggest living on 70 percent while eliminating consumer debt. Ideally, you’ll be investing 10 percent and using 10 percent to pay off your debt. Take that winning percentage and apply it to the debt that can be paid off the fastest. Once a debt is paid off, apply the total monthly payment, including the winning percentage, to the next debt. Lastly, apply your vastly increasing winning percentage to your assets!

Okay, take a deep breath here. I know I brought you through all of that rather quickly. If you want the step-by-step breakdown, I strongly suggest you read Money Mastery, which dives deep into each of the steps mentioned above!

Invest Your Money and Gain Assets

It might take you a while to get to this step, and that’s okay! Once you have completely eliminated consumer debt and you have more income than expenses, you can start thinking about accumulating and accelerating. In other words, investing and gaining assets. This is the “secret sauce” to the operation. This is where you take that excess income and begin aggressively investing it. Financial freedom is on the horizon at this point!

If you’re going to build wealth, you need to be able to accept personal responsibility, take personal control, practice FUHDWLYLW\ GHYHORS WKH FRQƓGHQFH WR GHVLJQ your future, and adapt to succeed. Eliminating debt is a huge achievement, but you need to think hard about how you’re going to build assets moving forward. True assets include WKLQJV OLNH UHQW IURP UHDO HVWDWH SURƓWV IURP D business, capital distributions from a business, dividends from stock, etc. When you become an investor who holds many assets, you have an important choice to make. Will you build bigger barns for yourself, or partner with God and put your money to work for the kingdom? Mastering your money is all about freedom, and you get to decide what you’ll do with that freedom.

Partner Spotlight Kathy When I registered for the WealthBuilders Conference and started receiving the emails from Billy, I had felt a nudge to partner with WealthBuilders. Defeating the Culprit: Poverty

ecent events have reminded us that we are truly living in a “global village.” You may ask, “What does the term global village mean?”

Simply put, a global village means we are so interconnected that what happens in one part of the world affects the rest of the world in either a positive or negative manner. In a community, UHJDUGOHVV RI LWV VL]H HYHQWV LQ DQ\ RQH VSHFLƓF area of that community will be felt across the entire community as a whole. While one can take steps to insulate or protect themselves from certain things, they cannot isolate themselves away from facing the challenges that arise from such proximity. Poverty is one of these challenges.

Involving ourselves and investing our resources in things that promote positive social impact is not just an altruistic endeavor that makes us feel good about ourselves. Nor is it a way to make us 18

appear noble as though we are taking the moral high road. But rather, promoting positive social impact is truly a way to preserve society and mitigate the negative and damaging effects that social erosion has on all of us individually and collectively as a community, nation, and a world.

These forms of poverty must be strategically combated and defeated if we want to truly change the human condition and the effects it has on the nations and the world.

When we invest in things that promote positive social impact and involve ourselves in social responsibility, the results are both remarkable and measurable: •

Crime goes down

Disease is reduced and in some cases eliminated

•

Education elevates the human possibility

•

Economy grows and productivity increases

•

Communities and nations stabilize

•

Moral boundaries are reinforced

•

Poverty is diminished

and disciplines. These disciplines include the spiritual discipline, the moral discipline, and the ƓQDQFLDO GLVFLSOLQH WR QDPH D IHZ ,W LV LQ WKH training and development in these disciplines that gives us the best chance to effect true and lasting change.

One of the biggest, if not the biggest, culprit that must be defeated is poverty. Poverty takes on many forms including spiritual poverty, moral SRYHUW\ DQG ƓQDQFLDO SRYHUW\ 7KHVH IRUPV RI poverty must be strategically combated and defeated if we want to truly change the human condition and the effects it has on the nations and the world.

That is why Tricord Global is committed to its mission of nation and world transformation WKURXJK EXVLQHVV DQG ƓQDQFLDO WUDLQLQJ provision of capital for microenterprise and PLFURƓQDQFH GHYHORSPHQW DQG NLQJGRP VRFLDO impact development. We believe in helping people become successful in business and in their moral development. When people make a commitment to their social and civic responsibility, it not only changes their lives and nation, but it also has a net positive effect on our lives and nation as well.

Jesus gave us as believers a commission to take this gospel of the kingdom to the nations. He also said, “When you have done it to the least of these…you have done it to me.”

Impact: Being a single mother of four children, the loan has helped to tremendously improve the success of her business and in turn, has supported her family. With the proceeds from her business, she is able to pay her children’s school fees on time. Her business is located in the Nakawa market in the Kampala district.

BUJJINGO Loan Amount: $770 (USh 3,000,000)

Purpose of the Loan: To Boost His Business

Impact: By now having the resources to fully stock his store at Nakasero, he has been able to sell more goods and pay his children’s school fees. As a pastor and a single father who helps many other children in the community, he now KDV ƓYH HPSOR\HHV ZKRVH IDPLOLHV DUH HQRUPRXVO\ EOHVVHG from the salaries he pays them. Nakasero is a hill located in central Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda.

Purpose of the Loan: Construction of Rental Houses No. of Employees: Six

Impact: Mr. Kisuule has more than 22 rental units situated in Kasubi, a suburb of Kampala. With the loan he received, he has been able to offer low-income earners working in Kampala cheap access to accommodation. As a result, families have been sheltered in affordable homes.

Impact: With the loan, the school has built a perimeter wall, which serves as a major source of relief for the parents with pupils in the school.

This has positively impacted the local community by easing their transport means. Ssempala is a family man and it has helped him to earn a steady income and provide security for his family.

ello, WealthBuilders community! My name is Chad Frantzen, and it is my sincere honor to introduce myself as the newest member of Billy Epperhart’s team. I was introduced to Billy by a mutual friend, Lance Wallnau, and have a great level of respect for the ministry work in the world of finance, business, and social reform that WealthBuilders is committed to. I share those same kingdom values with each of you reading this magazine. Allow me to briefly introduce myself:

My wife, Kelli, and I have been married seventeen years and have two amazing kids, Tyler and Hannah. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, I have twenty years of professional experience and am the founder of Authentic Counsel, LLC, an independent registered investment advisory firm. I hold a business degree from Texas A&M University and a Master of Divinity from Global Awakening Theological Seminary.

WealthBuilders, as you know, is a movement that empowers Christian entrepreneurs to impact the world through wise stewardship of one’s gifts and resources. The Lord has used Billy and Becky Epperhart in a mighty way to create social impact worldwide through their teaching and workshop platforms. In addition, many of you have invested in or heard of the work Tricord Global is doing in the arena of microfinance in poor and developing nations.
