The Tricord Update Official Updates on the Impact Our Tricord Investors are Making
A Lasting Impact “What kind of impact will my investment make?” When a person considers a social impact investment, this is one of the main questions they want answered. There are many different ways to measure impact, but in this short letter I am going to focus on singular impacts and lasting impacts. An example of a singular impact is a one-time charitable donation. Singular impacts are usually tied to events or projects. While this type of giving/investment can make a difference, it is localized, short-term, and only lasts once. The change is similar to when you stick your finger in water. Your efforts cause a stir, but when the water settles, you can’t tell that your finger has ever been there. On the contrary, the effects of a lasting impact are perpetual. Lasting impacts usually occur when a person invests in something or someone that has a sustainable influence. They come from the hand ups, not the hand outs. So, back to our original question– “What kind of impact does my investment make?” A lasting one! Through the capital Tricord investors like you provide, loan clients receive a financial education that serves them for the rest of their lives. They also start businesses that grow, produce ongoing income, and provide jobs. Many of them are Christians who become major influencers in their communities and effect ongoing change. The lasting impact continues, as loan clients are generous toward their churches and communities with their talents and finances. [Cont. on Page 2.]
