Hello Investors!

I cannot believe that the year is already halfway over and we find ourselves at a second-quarter update. To reiterate, the purpose of these quarterly updates is twofold. Firstly, we want to express our gratitude to you for your investment. The capital you provide has allowed us to service over 5,000 loans to clients in the developing world. Because of you, they are able to start businesses, renovate churches, build schools, buy homes, and so much more. Our hope is that Tricord would be a platform for your dreams. In other words, we want to be the system where you can implement your vision for positive world change.

Secondly, we want to connect you with Tricord’s vision and happenings because we are in this together. In this update, you’ll find testimonies from our loan clients and your fellow investors.

In addition, I wanted to share some of the short and long-term goals Billy Epperhart and I have for Tricord. We are looking to build and open two more branches of our primary bank, Glotrans (either expanding the current facilities or adopting new locations.) We also hope to expand our client base in Uganda.

Something that will help us do that is growing our financial partners' loan portfolio and diversification so that they can offer more financial services. We would love it if you would join us in prayer and hopeful expectation regarding all that God is going to do through Tricord.

Tricord provides seven different types of loans in order to suit the diversity of needs our clients have.

We partner with three lending institutions in Uganda. These institutions provide our clients with the ability to be economically active teach them the value of corporate responsibility. This promotes enduring change and circulates continual capital within the country. *Your Tricord dollars have financed projects across the 7 Mountains by funding the following projects: a church revitalization project and expansion of a medical clinic in Uganda, the construction of a conference/training room for the YMCA and homes for the impoverished in the Dominican Republic, the drilling of multiple water wells to provide potable drinking water, the start-up of Farm Uganda, adult literacy programs, a business training seminar in Ethiopia, and so much more. **The categories of loans your investment supports: individual loans, school fee loans, business loans (for start-up and expansion), agricultural loans, church loans (for construction, remodeling, etc.), school loans (for development and expansion), and real estate loans (for middle and lower-income families to purchase a home).

Your Return on Investment As a Tricord investor, you are right ahead of the curve. Social Impact investing is projected to be the norm by 2023. God is bringing his Kingdom to earth through the financial industry! Your ROI isn’t just about the financial reality—it’s the difference you’re making, too. So, here’s some stats to communicate both sides of your metaphorical ROI coin.

Financial ROI The average default rate for a Tricord loan client is around 5%. In the United States, that percentage jumps to around 10%.

According to the Global Impact Investing Network, more than 88% of surveyed impact investors reported that their investments met or exceeded their expectations.

Across the board, social impact investing is producing wealth. In a study by the University of California, the median impact fund had a median internal rate of return of 6.4%, compared to 7.4% from non-impact seeking funds.

Social ROI Financial inclusion--equal access to useful and affordable financial products--has been identified by the World Bank as one of the biggest keys to reducing global poverty. Right now, close to ⅓ of adults are unbanked. With your Tricord investment, you help reduce that ratio by generating the capital people need to get started.

The United Nations developed The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) as a global cry to develop strategies and partnerships that reduce poverty. Though all of the goals are somewhat interconnected, Tricord directly targets the following:

Loan Client Ephraim For this quarterly report, I want to reflect on the first loan client our bank in Uganda, Glotrans, ever had. His name is Ephraim, and he first came to the bank to receive a loan to start a bicycle repair shop. It was so successful that he expanded his vision and bought a furniture and appliance business. He didn’t stop there. Ephraim decided to create a gas station. I had the pleasure of visiting this spot as people from all around dropped by to refill. It was incredible how Ephraim went from quite poor to having a steady income and changing his community through service and job provision. And then, just to blow us away even more, Ephraim developed a supermarket down the street from his gas station.

This is why we are so passionate about Tricord. We know that God is no respecter of persons, which means that what he does for one person, he’ll do for another. The developing world is full of people with the giftings of entrepreneurship and business, but they lack the resources to draw out those skills. All Ephraim needed was a little bit of resource and guidance on how to steward it well. I feel a stir in my spirit whenever I think about the tens of thousands out there who are in a similar situation.

Tricord services the poor of the poor. They are economically inactive, so they don’t have the credit history to get a loan on their own (or, if they do, the interest rate they qualify for is almost criminal). We are so grateful for your investment because it allows people the opportunity to become economically active and pour back into their local communities, both monetarily and spiritually. Loan clients are taught about corporate responsibility, so the difference your investment dollars helped make in their life has a ripple effect throughout their communities.

Ephraim was full of potential, and with a little capital, guidance, and the Holy Spirit, it was unlocked. Now, hundreds of Ugandan people reap the benefits on a daily basis.
