The Lindis Pass Conservation Group Inc

The Lindis Pass Conservation Group Inc. is in its 8th year carrying out conservation work in the Lindis Pass Scenic Reserve, in partnership with the Department of Conservation. Volunteers converge from Alexandra, Tarras, Wanaka and Twizel over the spring to autumn period to battle weeds within the reserve and collect up an amazing amount and variety of roadside rubbish

grown from split mature tussocks by Wanaka’s Te Kakano nursery planted out this spring. The aim is to provide pockets of snow tussock in the bare areas as seed source to speed up recovery of the ecosystem. This work was funded by the Community Conservation Fund.
