The Cancer Society of Otago and Southland has invited courageous people to ‘Jump For Cancer’ to support the 1 in 3 people impacted by cancer. Those who have fundraised $1,000 for the Cancer Society will skydive for free at Skydive Wanaka on Saturday, 14 May. Cancer Society staff will be cheering on the brave jumpers, including their own Chief Executive, Rachael Hart who has pledged to take the leap. She is terrified about skydiving but feels it can’t be as terrifying as being told you have cancer. Ms Hart said, “I am terrified of heights, but if skydiving was easy, it wouldn’t be a challenge."

“I challenge businesses and individuals to take the plunge with me so we can all make a difference,” encouraged Ms Hart. You can sign up as a team, such as a workplace or an individual. Regardless, each person must raise $1,000 or more to qualify for a free jump. Skydivers can also arrange another time in May if the jump day does not suit.
