COMMUNITY NEWS 100 People Who Care Brant donates over $21,000 to local charities Brant - Brantford, January 9, 2024 - 100 People Who Care Brant (100PWCB) is thrilled to announce that it has donated a total of $21,770 to three local organizations over the past year, thanks to its generous members. 100 People Who Care Brant has made a positive impact, and tangible difference by supporting these essential programs and initiatives that address critical needs in our community. In its first giving cycle, 100 People Who Care Brant contributed $7,615 to Crossing All Bridges Learning Centre. The Centre provides dynamic programs and opportunities designed to maximize potential for adult individuals living with developmental challenges. This generous donation played a vital role in the completion of a state-of-the-art Sensory Room, as well as renovations to the centre’s kitchen, where

participants learn cooking skills, safe food handling guidelines and proper use of kitchen equipment.

During the group’s second giving cycle, Kids Can Fly received $6,935 from 100 People Who Care Brant members. This donation funded the enrollment of 152 local children in the Dolly Parton “Imagination Library Program” for an entire year. Children in this program receive a free book every month from birth to the age of five, promoting early literacy for kids. Since the program began in 2010, Kids Can Fly Brantford/Brant has mailed over 250,000 books, and over 4,000 children have already graduated. Continued on page 23
