Curlers travel to Ayr for Hunter’s Bonspiel Although hunting season may be coming to an end with the cold, bonspiel season is in full swing! Members of the Paris Curling Club travelled down the road to Ayr to participate in the Hunter’s Bonspiel last weekend. This type of tournament is called 'Point Spiel' where you play 3 games and accumulate points over the course of the day based on the game scores / ends won / and overall game result. Each draw has their own winner based on point totals, and then there is 1 overall winner named as well. Team Tamowski seemed to struggle a little to get into a groove, but Team Maude managed to have a pretty good day and finished 2nd in their draw. After winning their first 2 games, they ended up losing in their final game by the narrowest of margins, on a draw to the button tiebreaker! Paris and Ayr curlers will face one another again for the infamous P'Ayr'is Cup battle in January. Paris Curling Club photo
